Parent Teacher Organization is NOT a thing of the
past! We need YOU to help us support the school
staff and our students to make these the best years
of their lives! All roles are needed for 2014-2015
school year. You do NOT have to serve as a titled
role to attend meetings, We invite all parents,
family friends, and family members to attend our
organizational meeting on Wednesday, May 21 at
CIS gymnasium at 6:30pm.
We welcome EVERYONE to attend and bring your
ideas for a fresh and fun year ahead! Please feel

Kensey Tarkington won 1st place in the region's
2014 Albemarle Pediatric Asthma Coalition's Poster
Art Contest. Kensey competed against students
from Pasquotank, Camden, Currituck, Perquimans
and Chowan counties! Great job!
Youth Acting Camp July 28 – August 1
Ages 9 – 12 1:00PM - 5:00pm
Instructor: Laurie Hull Fee: $100
An exciting and fun-filled camp designed for both the new and
growing actor. Develop and deepen your understanding of
acting by exploring a variety of acting styles and methods, stage
movement, character development, and motivation.

Voice Lessons with Cathy Pescevich Kreplin!
What a wonderful opportunity to study with Cathy Pescevich
Kreplin in a group setting this summer! Sessions will be each
Monday during the summer at Christ Episcopal Church in the
choir room, just around the corner from Arts of the Albemarle.

The 2014 Battle of the Books Reading Challenge was a great success! The following students did an awesome job and
demonstrated great TEAM WORK! Thanks to the parents who encouraged their child to read and who provided refreshments for
all of the participants! Thank you to PTO for providing the winning team member with $10 gift cards and a luncheon.
