It is also recommended that you have completed a full Interbase Backup and Restore on all of your Medtech32 databases within the previous month. Medtech recommends that all Medtech upgrades and database back-up and restore processes are performed by a Medtech Certified Engineer or your Practice Technician. 2. Check the current Medtech32 installed version [HelpAbout Medtech32] before attempting this upgrade. The practice must be on the following Medtech32 version: 3. Version 20.10 Build 4299 or later All users (including remote users) have logged out of Medtech32 and all scheduled utilities, backup or maintenance tasks, and third party interfaces that require access to the databases have been stopped. Please stop and start Interbase guardian services to reset all connections to the databases. The following utilities/services have been shut down or stopped: 4. Medtech32 Scheduler Windows Scheduler NIR Directory Monitoring Utility Medtech Generic Directory Monitor Utility Medtech Services GP2GP Services 5. The Medtech Services are being upgraded during this installation and will be stopped and restarted automatically. However, as a precaution, please ensure that the Medtech Services have been stopped prior to running this upgrade. 6. Ensure that the Medtech Clinical Audit Tool [CAT] is not currently running on any machine. 7. You are logged onto the Medtech32 Server with full administrative rights. 8. All Briefcasing laptops with outstanding Briefcased data have been checked-in. 9. All Briefcasing laptops have been disconnected from the network. 10. The Release Notes and Installation Instructions have been reviewed and are understood. © Copyright Medtech Limited Page 3 of 7 Location of Installer 1. Visit our website at www.medtechglobal.com. 2. Select “New Zealand” in the region drop down (top right hand side of the window). 3. Select menu, Support Medtech32 Downloads. The New Zealand Medtech32 Downloads page will be displayed. 4. Locate the upgrade called Medtech32 Version 20.11 Build 4341 (June 2014) in the list. 5. Download the installer (“V20.11-Upgrade.EXE”). Medtech32 Version 20.11 Build 4341 Server Installation 1. Ensure that you have completed and checked all items in the Installation Pre-Requisites Checklist above. 2. Download the Version 20.11 Build 4341 Installer as described above. 3. Double click on the upgrade EXE to start the installation process. 4. Select the option for a server installation: 5. The Medtech Application EXEs and related files will be replaced. 6. The Database Upgrade Scripts will be run. © Copyright Medtech Limited Page 4 of 7 7. The Database Structure Check utility will be run. Note that this step can take a long time on large databases and should not be interrupted 8. The SQL Utility will be run to update the ACC READ codes. Note that this step can take up to 10 minutes, depending on the specifications of your server, and should not be interrupted 9. Some other updates and configurations will be done. 10. The Medtech Services will be started. 11. Once the installation is complete, the following message will be displayed: 12. Click on OK to close the installation. 13. You may be prompted to reboot the server at completion of the installation. If so, please complete the reboot of the server when requested. © Copyright Medtech Limited Page 5 of 7 Medtech32 Version 20.11 Build 4341 Briefcasing Installation After the server installation described above has been completed, all briefcasing laptops must be upgraded using a similar procedure as above, by selecting the following option at the start: © Copyright Medtech Limited Page 6 of 7 Post Installation Checklist 1. If prompted to do so after installation, a reboot of the server has been completed. 2. The upgrade has been run on all laptops that are used for Briefcasing and has completed without errors. Check the Version and Build of the replaced application EXEs: Right Click on the relevant EXE, select Properties from the Menu, click on the Details Tab and check the File Version]. The required file version of each EXE is shown in brackets below: 3. Medtech32 Main Application: Bin\MT32.exe [20.11.0.4341] Message Transfer Utility: Bin\Tools\MTInbox.exe [20.11.0.4341] Query builder: Bin\Tools\Qbuilder.exe [20.11.0.4341] GP2GP Patient Record Export: Bin\Tools\PatientRecordExport.exe [20.11.0.4341] If any of the following utilities/services were shut down or stopped prior to the Version 20.11 Build 4341 upgrade, please ensure they are restarted: 4. Medtech32 Scheduler Windows Scheduler NIR Directory Monitoring Utility Medtech Generic Directory Monitor Utility GP2GP Services 5. The Medtech Services were upgraded as part of the installation and should have been stopped and restarted automatically. However, as a precaution, please ensure that the Medtech Services have been started after running this upgrade. 6. Login to Medtech32 and ensure database connection is successful. Check that the database connection is successful to all registered databases. 7. Check the current Medtech32 installed version [HelpAbout Medtech32]. After the upgrade has been run, this should read Version 20.11 Build 4341. 8. Ensure that all staff can successfully log into Medtech32 without error. 9.
