Capability Statement April 2014 Overview VIENTO CONTRACTING SERVICES Viento Contracting Services Pty Ltd (VCS) provides efficient, effective construction services to the civil industry, undertaking projects in a safe, timely manner to satisfy our client’s health, safety, environmental and quality requirements. VCS have a proven site management and supervisory team, experienced workforce and a reliable fleet of plant and equipment. With a willingness to provide innovative solutions to enable time and cost saving measures. VCS are capable of undertaking projects both large and small. KEY MANAGEMENT Viento Contracting Services is managed by a highly experienced team; Pat Pearcey Managing Director Pat has over 17 years’ experience in the civil construction industry. Prior to joining Viento, Pat held positions as Construction Manager (Queensland) and Project Manager (Western Australia) for NRW. His role included managing a diverse range of civil projects in the Pilbara for BHP Billiton Iron Ore and Rio Tinto Iron Ore. Mark Silverthorne Operations Director Mark has worked in the construction industry for over 35 years and has held senior supervisory roles for the past 25 years. Prior to joining Viento, Mark was a superintendent for NRW, working on a range of projects throughout the Pilbara and Mid-West Regions of Western Australia. Brian Bailey Superintendant Brian has over 35 years of experience in the civil and mining industry. He is a strong supporter of indigenous empowerment and has been a key person in joint ventures between Aboriginal Language Groups and civil and mining companies. Robert Stewart Project Manager Robert has over 7 years’ experience in the construction sector. Prior to joining Viento, Robert worked for NRW and in that time gained invaluable experience on a diverse range of sites in Queensland, Western Australia and New South Wales. Stephen Watkins Project Manager Steve has worked in the construction industry for 10 years. Steve started his career as a Design Engineer in New Zealand. He has managed construction projects in the Northwest Australian Construction Projects for RioTinto Iron Ore, BHP Billiton Iron Ore and FMG developing mine, rail and port infrastructure. Trevor McGowan, Project Manager Trevor has over seven years’ experience in the civil and mining industry. He previously held positions at Calibre Global EPCM, NRW and Theiss John Holland JV, managing design development and implementation. Projects & Capabilities Kings Tailings Dam Storage Facility Fortescue Metals Group Located at Solomon Mine, 60km North of Tom Price, works included the installation of a sub-surface seepage collection system; excavation of the collection sump; installation of concrete encased HDPE decant line; construction tailings dam embankment totalling 1.9 million cubic metres of compacted fill; placement of rock armour; construction of safety windrows and road furnishings. Kings Tailings Storage Facility - Decant Tower Construction Fortescue Metals Group The decant tower contract includes earthworks, concrete foundations, steel water transfer pipeline installation, supply and installation of slotted concrete tower segments, installation of a rock surround and an access causeway from the existing pit bench to the top of the decant tower. Mainline Batter Stabilisation Package Fortescue Metals Group Works included, repairing 44,000m2 of scoured batters and installing a combination of geofabric, rock armour and geoweb reinforcing along the batter. This has provided FMG with a permanent solution, which requires less maintenance than the unprotected batters. AP5 Project – Preconstruction and Maintenance Civil Works Fortescue Metals Group Works included the construction of a level pump pad in the Southern Settlement Area (SSA), widening of a pump pipe corridor from the SSA across to the Eastern Settlement Area (ESA) through FMG Operations area and repairs to the South Eastern Settlement Area (SESA), external and internal batters, re-grading the embankment access road and rock protection placement beneath the existing discharge pipes. Pilbara Energy Pipeline Relocation Fortescue Metals Group The project involved the excavation of a ramped trench approximately 9m deep, 20m wide and 400m long in which the main Port Hedland town supply gas pipeline would be re-routed by localised lowering, allowing the installation of the Roy Hill rail works to take place. Nammuldi Below Water Table Project – Road Maintenance and Miscellaneous Earthworks Rio Tinto Iron Ore The KVG Joint Venture has recently been engaged by Rio Tinto Iron Ore to provide civil construction services as part of their Nammuldi Below Water Table (NBWT) Project at Nammuldi/Brockman 2 Mine Site, Tom Price. Work included dust suppression and maintenance, grading of the 30km long Brockman 2/Nammuldi access road, clearing of 568Ha of vegetation from 12 agricultural irrigation pivots to be used for the mine de-watering surplus water and road construction. Civil Works Wet Hire Port Hedland Rio Tinto Dampier Salt KVG Joint Venture was engaged under a wet hire plant and personnel supply contract, to undertake repair works to the DSL Intake Pond embankment and leevees. Works involved the removal of the existing rock armour, re-building and re-compacting the embankment batters, placement of geofabric material and new rock armour. The final surface of the majority of the levees have been finished with roadbase material. Corporate Structure VIENTO GROUP LIMITED Viento is supported by its strong Board of directors. John Silverthorne, Executive Director John has 36 years’ experience in the earthmoving and resources industry. He was one of the founders and an original director of NRW Holdings Limited. NRW Holdings Limited is specialist mining services company. John was an integral part in establishing two very successful Aboriginal Joint Ventures with the major mining companies in the Pilbara. John Farrell, Executive Director John has significant management experience in the property sector, particularly sourcing land for subdivision developments, construction and investment. Steve De Mol, Non Executive Director Steve has provided a range of services to the Australian Mining Sector for over 20 years. Steve founded HVLV, a portable switchroom manufacturer, servicing blue chip clients in both mining and oil industries. HVLV is now a division of Viento Group Limited.
