News FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Contact: AnnMarie Campbell (FPS) 701-446-1000 September 2, 2014 Pam Gibb (MAPS) 218-284-3300 Heather Konschak (WFPS) 701-356-2000 Three Metro School Districts Recipients of $95,000 in Grant Funds WEST FARGO, ND – (September 2, 2014) – Administration from Fargo Public Schools, Moorhead Area Public Schools and West Fargo Public Schools was recently informed that their school districts were chosen as recipients of a $95,000 grant from the Otto Bremer Foundation. The grant funds will be used to provide additional mental health resources to students and their families. The funding will be awarded to Fargo, Moorhead and West Fargo administration during a news conference on Thursday, September 4 at 10:30 AM at the Fargo Library, 102 3rd Street N, Fargo. Those speaking at the press conference include FPS Superintendent Dr. Jeffrey Schatz, WFPS Superintendent Dr. David Flowers, MAPS Superintendent Dr. Lynne Kovash, Gary Wolsky and Darrin Tonesfeldt from The Village, and Stephanie Goetz of the Stephanie Goetz Mental Wellness Initiative. District administrations are grateful for the opportunity this funding affords to forge yet another connection between the districts and across the community at large. The mental health of students is a community problem, and everyone in the community can help be part of the solution. The grant application was submitted by the Stephanie Goetz Mental Wellness Initiative (SGMWI), on behalf of the three districts. ###
