OVERVIEW
This brochure describes how current and potential forest
industry employees can gain the skills and qualifications
that are required to work in NSW Forests.
FLEXIBLE AND EFFICIENT
The Forest Industry Training Centre at the Tumut Campus of Riverina Institute has over 10 years of
experience in delivering FOA qualifications (formerly known as Forest Operators Licence) to forest
and allied - such as Mining and Civil - industry workers across NSW. Based on this experience we
offer qualifications that allow workers to gain the units of competence they need in the most flexible
and efficient way possible to suit busy employees who generally work in isolated regional locations.
We therefore offer a combination of workplace delivery and assessment, short courses and online
resources to enable you to meet all the unit qualification requirements in the time required.

Riverina Institute has split the unit qualification requirements for the FOA into some separate but
related services that make it easy for contractors to undertake the activities and comply with
requirements.
