Elizabeth Fry will provide a support letter prior to applying for the document. We pay for record checks that are accompanied by a receipt of payment. We cannot pay for record checks that have been paid for in advance or have not been accompanied by a letter from our agency. NOTE: A criminal record will not necessarily preclude a volunteer person from their role at the Elizabeth Fry Society of Calgary and all information will be confidential. A criminal record check must be obtained prior to the completion of a volunteer’s probationary period of three months. Record management policies are in accordance with the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOI/POP) and generally accepted records retention, access and destruction principles. Only authorized individuals have access to the files of the Society in each program area, on a “need to know” basis.
