InfoCAD Update May 2014 - Version 14
Dear customers,
please find enclosed version 14 of our program system as part of our software maintenance services. All updates are briefly outlined in the attachment. More detailed explanations can be found in the help system. Additional information is available in the
'Texte' folder of the program CD.
The installation will automatically start after inserting the CD. Alternatively, you can
execute Setup.exe directly from the CD. The license number required for the installation
can be found on the back of the CD case. Customers with a network license will have
to update their installation of the license manager in addition.
We wish you the best of success with the new program functionalities.
Sincerely yours,
InfoGraph
Ingenieurgesellschaft für graphisch
unterstützte Datenverarbeitung mbH
Attachment: One program CD and one short description per license. For network
installations, only one CD per network hardlock is provided.

News in InfoCAD 14
The following chapters provide you with the latest information on the InfoCAD program system and the most important changes with respect to the previous
version 13 from May 2013.
General
• The analysis settings for the concrete construction
checks have been revised. The operating logic of
the check boxes have changed.
• For the reinforcement representation the base
reinforcement specified in the section can be subtracted. This is especially useful for the recalculation of structures.
• Two new docking windows 'Layer' and 'Partial
view' were added. They can be activated via the
view menu and can be used during the work on
the structure.
• For model faces, partial views divided into planes
and storeys can automatically be created.
• In the data base cross-section numbers can be
changed separately or in groups.
• The representation mode 'Section color' can now
be used for model objects.
• The import of IFC files has been enhanced.
• In model objects existing partial views can now
also be preset for the elements.
• The state of the option 'multiple' of the copy
function is retained.
• Load cases and combinations without any content
can exist.
• When combining the support reactions now also
the support deformations are taken into account.

Polygon Sections
• In polygon sections the effective flange width can
be defined. The selected areas are not taken into
account for the calculation of the centroid coordinates and the bending moments of inert.
Mindlin-Reissner Area Elements
• A new option of the calculation settings allows
using of area elements with an approach based
on the Mindlin-Reissner plate theory.
Buckling Eigenmodes
• For the calculation of buckling eigenmodes a new
method of calculation has been implemented.
Nonlinear Structural Analysis
• For the nonlinear analysis of area and solid elements an additional yield criterion according to
'Rankine' has been implemented.

EN 1992-1-1 and National Annexes
The design has been adapted to the national annex
for Germany from April 2013 and supplemented with
the following features:
• When checking the crack width the decisive action
combination can now be chosen freely. This allows
e.g. to take the WU guideline into consideration.
• The punching shear check has been supplemented
with the design for diagonal reinforcing steel.
• In the punching shear check for foundation slabs
the resistance without punching shear reinforcement is now calculated according to Equation
(6.50).
• The punching shear checks for foundation slabs
according to DIN EN 1992-1-1 are now conducted
as per Chapter 6.4.4(2) of the standard in accordance with the commented version of September
2013.
EN 1995-1-1 and National Annexes
The design of timber structures has been adapted to
the national annex for Germany from August 2013
and to the new product standard EN 14080:2013-08
for glue-laminated timber. In detail the following
changes resulted from this:
• The material type GL36 from the replaced EN
1194:1999 has been removed.
• The new material types GL20, GL22, GL26 and
GL30 according to EN 14080:2013 have been added.
• The shear strength of glue-laminated timber has
been changed to fvk = 3.5 according to DIN EN
1995-1-1/NA:2013.
• The increase of the bending strength of gluelaminated timber as per Equation (3.2) is only applied for bending stress perpendicular to the smaller dimension according to DIN EN 1995-11/NA:2013.

DIN EN 1992-2
The checks have been revised for the application of
the recalculation guideline for road bridges. In detail
the following application rules according to level 2
can now be used:
• Safety and combination coefficients for actions
acc. to Table 10.8 and Chapter 12.3.2.
• Partial safety coefficients for construction materials
acc. to Chapter 12.3.3.
• Limitation of the concrete strut angle for lateral
forces acc. to Chapter 12.4.3.3, Equation (12.11).
• Selection of a constant concrete strut inclination
for torsion according to Chapter 12.4.3.4(2).
• Determination of a weighted lever arm z for
prestressed cross-sections acc. to Equation (12.12).
• Consideration of reduced requirements for the
crack width limitation acc. to Chapter 12.6(2).
• Reduction of the scattering coefficients for the
prestressing force acc. to Chapter 12.5.3(1).
Prestressing
• A reduction factor of prestress for the robustness
check of area elements has been implemented.
• The tendon group and prestressing force tables
can now be copied to the Windows clipboard for
further processing.
• A prestressing system with the SIA 262 certification has been added.
SIA 262:2013
The design according to SIA 262 was adapted to the
new edition 2013 of the standard. Simultaneously,
the following features were added:
• Checks against fatigue.
• Serviceability checks.
• Prestressing with and without bond for all components made of concrete.

DIN 4227
The prestressed concrete checks have been fundamentally revised and supplemented in regard to the
recalculation of existing road bridges. Basically the
following changes resulted from this:
• All calculations can now also be made for design
objects and e.g. allow the check of solid elements
conforming to the standard, for example.
• In case of prestressed compound sections the
tendon type 'mixed' is now also supported.
• If the effective width is defined at the polygon
section, it is decisive for the cross-section values.
An additional full polygon is not necessary.
• The cross-section options for averaging the shear
stresses from lateral force and for the limitation of
shear stresses from torsion are now taken into account for all checks.
• The check listing has been restructured and provided with bookmarks. As a result, the access to
listing contents has been considerably improved.
• The single design has been supplemented.
Structural analysis for fire scenarios
• The structure analysis is now also available for
area elements.
• An external fire curve and a fire curve according
to the ZTV-ING Guideline were added to the list of
thermal actions.
• For the calculation of the cross-section temperatures a new method for mesh generation has
been developed.
