General information on updates
Design in timber construction
 The DIN EN 1995-1-1/NA:2013-08 standard has been implemented in the application programs:
- DLT Continuous Beam
- ESK Plane Frame
- D10 Glued Laminated Girder
- HO7 Timber Beam
- HO11 Timber Design
- HO12 Timber Construction Details
- HTW Timber Wall Diaphragms
With the implementation of DIN EN 1995-1-1/NA:2013-08, increased shear strength values of
3.5 N/mm2 for laminated timber become noticeable.
On the website of the Studiengemeinschaft Holzleimbau e.V., you can find further information
on the current use of laminated timber.
Note:
This standard has not been introduced officially yet and is not part of the List of
Technical Construction Regulations (LTB). Therefore, you should coordinate relevant
questions with the promoter and the reviewing engineer.
Design in masonry construction
 In the application programs
- MWX Masonry Design
- MWK Basement Masonry Wall
- MWP Masonry Column
- MWM Multi-storey Masonry Wall
DIN EN 1996 (general and simplified verification method, from version R2014-1 on) is now
available as a basis of the verifications.
The companies Wienerberger Deutschland GmbH, Schlagmann and HART Keramik were added
to the approval data base and are available for selection in combination with DIN 1053 and DIN
EN 1996.

Information on updates of individual application programs
DLT Continuous Beam
 Design with burn-off loss (hot design) is now available in combination with Eurocode 5.
 Design of fasteners for reinforced beams is also possible in accordance with Eurocode 5.
 The calculation can be based on NA to BS EN 1995-1-1:2012 if you have a licence for this NA.
 A new dialog for the definition of the vibration analysis parameters and a supporting feature for
stiffness definitions have been implemented.
PLT Plates by Finite Elements
 Calculation of deflections in state II (version R 2013-1 and higher):
In addition to the calculation of deformations in state I with simple loads and gross concrete
cross-sections, you can now calculate deformations in state II.
The calculation is based on EN 1992-1-1 7.4.3 under the quasi-permanent load combination and
with averaged stiffness values with the distribution coefficient (Zeta method).
Prerequisites: durability must be enabled in the basic parameters to ensure that the quasipermanent combination will be determined.
The influence of creep and shrinkage is considered via the creep coefficient and the shrinkage
strain (design: Settings - Serviceability).
Optionally, either the required or a globally pre-set reinforcement is taken into account. Any
existing reinforcement areas are automatically considered.
 From this version on, different joint versions are available for selection (moment joint, shear
force joint and force and moment joint).
 You can optionally label level lines directly and/or put them out with the legend.
 Output: you can optionally put out the results either together with the auxiliary geometry or the
Dxf-slide. The newly available "Minimum profile" option generates an elementary output scope
that can be customized to the user's requirements.
GEO Building Model
 Functionality for the definition, processing and data management of planar joints (shear force
joint, moment joint, force and moment joint) is available.
 A special user interface is available for the control of the horizontal load path (load-case specific
and direction-relevant).

B6+ Punching Shear Analysis
 The design of shear connector rails as per ETA approval is available in combination with DIN EN
1992:2012, ÖNORM EN 1992:2011 and PN EN 1992:2010 (version R 2014-1 and higher).
 From this version on, you can use the method of plastic shear stress distribution to calculate the
total load factor Beta.
 For floor slabs and compact foundations, you can select whether the critical perimeter should
be determined by iteration or by the condition acrit = dm. When you set acrit = dm, the
software checks whether the required border condition Lamda > 2 is satisfied.
FD+ Foundation
 The FD+ application is suitable for the verification of squared and rectangular foundations cast
with or without sleeve. External loads can optionally apply centrically or with a uniaxial or
biaxial eccentricity. The software application calculates the soil pressure underneath the four
corner points and the position of the zero-line in combination with a gaping joint. The required
flexural reinforcement is calculated for the foundation and the punching shear resistance is
verified. In this calculation, you can either set the β value manually or calculate it with a plastic
distribution of shear or based on the sector model. The required connecting reinforcement is
optionally determined. The structural system consists of the foundation slab and optionally, a
cast-on plinth or a sleeve with or without eccentricity. The bending design is performed on the
cross sections through the centre of the column.
FDS+ Strip Foundation
 FDS+ is suitable for the verification of unreinforced strip foundations and the calculation of the
required flexural and shear reinforcement. In addition, foundation analyses such as the
verification of the permissible base pressure, the gaping joint, the safety against sliding,
displacement and ground failure are performed. You can define multiple soil layers as well as
slopes or groundwater for these verifications.
GBR+ Ground Failure Analysis
 You can verify square and rectangular foundations. External loads can optionally apply
centrically or with a uniaxial or biaxial eccentricity. The software application calculates the soil
pressure underneath the four corner points and the position of the zero-line in combination
with a gaping joint. For the foundation, verifications of the gaping joint, the permissible base
pressure, the sliding resistance and the position stability as well as of the resistance to ground
failure are available. The structural system consists of the foundation slab and optionally
includes a cast-on column (or plinth) with or without eccentricity.

S7+ Portal Steel Frame
 The S7+ application is suitable for the calculation of single-bay portal frames. The available roof
types are double-pitch, single-pitch and flat roofs. Projections and asymmetrical frames can also
be defined. In comparison to a framework application, where the user must enter the structural
system and the loads, the definition work in S7+ is considerably reduced. You can define the
geometry and the loading quickly and easily.
 Interfaces to the software applications ST9 - Screwed Steel Connections, ST10 - Screwed Frame
Corner and ST14 Welded Frame Corner are available for the design of the ridge point. You can
transfer loads to the applications ST3 Base Plate Steel Column and ST6 Restrained Base of Steel
Column
STX+ Stability Verification
 STX+ allows you to verify the stability of single-piece members with fork supports in accordance
with EN 1993 (equivalent member method). Optionally, you can put out either the elastic crosssection verifications on the stress level or the analysis of the plastic internal limit forces.
Systematic central compression, uniaxial bending with or without axial force and biaxial bending
are the definable actions. The stability verifications are limited to double-symmetrical cross
sections.
PLII+ Plate Buckling
 PLII+ is a calculation software for the analysis of rectangular plates with or without bracing that
are exposed to user-defined actions on the edges. In addition to verifying the structural safety
(verification of the buckling resistance based on the method of reduced stresses in accordance
with EN 1993-1-5, para. 10), you can simply calculate the buckling load factors and buckling
coefficients in accordance with the linear buckling theory. The calculation of the buckling field is
based on the Finite Element Method (FEM) in this analysis.
HO1+ Timber Column
 Available are single-piece (circle, rectangle) and multi-piece cross sections that are connected to
each other in a yielding manner. All partial cross sections of columns and spacers are the same
and have the same moduli of elasticity.
 Available systems: cantilever and hinged columns, with our without cantilever.
 Hot design: for single-piece cross sections, verifications under fire exposure are available.
 The new interactive graphical interface improves the traceability of the loading direction,
particularly in the verification of the base frame and the calculation of the effective supporting
area.

HTW Timber Wall Diaphragm
 The variety of definable systems ranges from simple walls with regular web spacing and
identical panelling on both sides to irregular column placement with different panelling and
different panel grids on each side. A horizontal butt joint can be defined for individual, several
or all panels. A different material and/or cross section can be assigned to each web and each
panelled side. Continuous vertical end webs (without transversal compression on the base
frame) are also available.
