How to Reset the Service Interval (Oil Change) Light with
MaxxForce Engines
Applies To: All MaxxForce Engines
DESCRIPTION
You cannot reset the service interval (oil change) light using
the Electronic Service Tool. You must follow the procedure
below.

Set parking brake
Turn the key on
Turn the cruise on
Turn the cruise off
Turn the cruise on
Very rapidly push the resume switch four times and
then hold down on the fifth time for four seconds.
The "Change Oil" message should clear from the odometer
window. The operation from the time the cruise is turned
on for the second time to the fifth activation of the resume
switch must take place within six seconds. If you fail to reset
the message then repeat the process.
Resetting using DLC Fleet Tool
1. If you do not have the DLC Fleet tool on your EZ-Tech
then please check the iKnow article IK2600074 for general
instructions on how to use tool and how to get it.
Note: The DLC Fleet Tool does NOT work with 2010
emissions compliant engines.
2. Open Fleet tool.
3. In the Service Interval section reset the light.
DOC® ForPC–Service Tool. It may also be reset by selecting
N-D-N-D-N-R-N on the shift selector, pausing briefly (less than
3 seconds) between each selector movement, with the ignition on
and the engine not running.
If the above reset does not work, you will need to program the
TCM to accept the reset. To do this you will need to follow the
key on engine off procedure and shift -D-N-R-N-D-N-R-N-D-NR-N This will allow the TCM to accept the above reset command.
