Placement Report 2014 as on 15th March 2014 Placements at GIM this year have crossed yet another far reaching milestone, which has reiterated GIM’s reach to the highest echelons, amongst the elitist of Business schools in the country. Trident Group this year has increased its last year offer to Rs. 15 Lakhs per annum as package. This is clearly yet another landmark for this 26 year old institution. Following the trust bestowed on the students of GIM by regular recruiters, this year saw flow of many more corporate reposing their faith in GIM students by extending their campus placement initiatives to GIM, some of them are: Murugappa Group’s Financial arm Cholamandalam Finance, French Banking major’s BNP Paribas wealth management, Indian Banking Major Karur Vyasa Bank, Online Retail major Amazon, World Fashion Retailing Brand Tommy Hilfiger, Accor Group’s Novotel, Sheraton group’s Four Points to name a few. Tata Group’s Hospitality major Taj Group of hotels, palaces and resorts is another such company which have reposed faith once again in our students and our value based education system and has offered the salary package of Rs. 6.5 lacks. Deloitte is another company which is a frequent visitor, their Director Taxation Mr. Eiren Woolfman is so impressed with our students that they have identified GIM as a centre of excellence and have made it as a permanent campus placement venue. GIM after establishing itself as a trend setter has set a new bench mark for itself in terms of placements. Another highlight of this year’s placement is return of the private banking sector to campus and GIM have already attracted Kotak Mahindra Bank and Axis Bank. GIM have positioned itself as a preferred choice of destination for talent acquisition and the long list of companies visiting the campus is the testimony to it ever growing popularity among the recruiting fraternity and students seeking admissions. Over the years GIM Media Rankings have improved tremendously. GIM is now amongst the Top 40 Best B Schools in India. Another First for this education cradle this year is even before final year students could begin their last trimester, more than 138 students (60% of Students) of MBA, BBA (Hons) and BBM got placed. GIM have already placed 150 (75%) by the mid march 2014. With the objective for 100% placement opportunities for GIM students - Placement Fortnight will be organized from 15th April to 30th April 2013 as a third Placement Window at the end of Internship. This would give tremendous opportunity for the remaining students to get placed. In all, over 25 recruiters have visited campus this year, so far. Prominent recruiters are: Taj Group of Hotels, Colgate-Palmolive, Bharati Airtel, Future Group, Deloitte, Bajaj Allianz Insurance, ICICI Securities, Jaro Education, Hana Global Solutions India, Air World Wide, Varity Knowledge Solutions, Netexlir, Chola Mandalam Finance, Amazon, Tommy Hilfiger, Karur Vyasa Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Axis Bank, BNP Paribas, Novotel – Accor Group, Four Points – Sheraton Group, Zeta Interactive, Idea Cellular, VOIP, Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, Amul e.t.c. Another Trend GIM witnessed this year is recruitment of large number of students per company. Many companies have recruited more than 10 students. The average package went up to Rs. 5.5 Lakhs.
