more degree options
Tomorrow’s most successful designers will marry a polished design
aesthetic with a deep understanding of modern graphic technology, design
processes and client management. ASU’s Graphic Information Technology
(GIT) Program offers an intensive course of study, emphasizing both theory
and hands-on laboratory practice, to prepare graduates for a lifelong career
in a variety of graphic design fields. All classes are project-based.
The bachelor of applied science program is a flexible, 60-credithour degree designed specifically for transfer students who have earned
a relevant A.A.S. from a regionally accredited institution. A B.A.S. with a
concentration in Internet and Web development is also offered online via
ASU Online.
The flexible program structure begins by providing a foundation in graphic
technology and then allows students to branch out and focus on
specific areas of interest. Students can select from a number of different
focus areas—web design and development, commercial photography and
video, print and digital publishing, 2-D and 3-D animation, and more—or
customize a secondary focus area to meet their specific post-graduation
goals. Develop skills in:
• Web design and development.
• Commercial photography and video.
• 2-D and 3-D animation.
• Scripting for web and graphic animation.
• Multimedia technologies.
• Pre-media, digital publishing and print.
