Immunization
Required Immunizations/Screening
1. MMR (2 dosages) - Required for every
International Student. Each dosage is administered
30 days apart.
2. Meningitis- Required for every student living on
campus or student must officially decline
3. Hepatitis- optional. If student does not receive the
vaccine they must officially decline
4. T Spot- Required for all International Students
studying at the University of South Florida
Failure to meet immunization requirements will
result in a hold on the student account, inability to register for classes, failure to comply with
immigration regulation, a potential drop from registered classes, and expulsion from school. If you
have a hold please see the Student Health Services Clinic DIRECTLY. If any problems arise during
your visit, please contact INTO USF Student Support.

Insurance
INTO Students must meet the requirements set forth by the United States of America, the State
of Florida, the University of South Florida and meet the insurance requirements set forth by
Florida Administrative Code Rule 6C-6.009(6) and USF Rule 6.0162. INTO USF Students have the
option of purchasing the HTH Worldwide Insurance Plan through INTO USF; Insurance Coverage
depends on your policy. Please note, not everything is covered; refer to your insurance packet or
personal profile for coverage information.
MOST IMPORTANT FACT: KEEP YOUR INSURANCE CARD WITH YOU AT ALL TIMES!
This card is to be used at hospital visits, doctor appointments, or when purchasing medications.
This policy does not include vision or dental.
When you purchase INTO USF Health Insurance, your temporary card will arrive at the INTO
Center front desk and the original will be sent to your US home address. Please pick up your
new temporary card within one week of receiving email notification.
Students with INTO USF insurance: once you pick up your insurance card, follow the instructions
on the card and create your own personal profile on the HTH website.
To make profile, log in to: http://www.hthstudents.com/
Once a profile is created, please check and verify that the email and the address is correct. This
profile gives you access to your policy benefits, claims and access to mPassport.
mPassport is an online application, that can also be downloaded to your phone, that is at your
convenience to help you find medical assistance you might need while traveling abroad. Log on at
https://www.mpassport.com/index.cfm using your HTH information. This application will help you
locate a doctor that speaks your language, dentists, hospitals, emergency services, translations
for medications, and to locate pharmacies.

USF Police Department
The USF Police Department can be contacted 24 hours a day by phone at (813) 974-2628
If you are walking on campus and need Emergency assistance, there are blue lights located
across campus to notify the police of your location.
If you stay late on campus or need a ride to your residence or dining hall, the USF Safe Team is
available to assist you.

MoBull Messenger
If there is an emergency on campus MoBull Messenger is part
of USF’s Emergency Notification System. It was established to
notify our community in the event of a campus emergency. The service is free; however, standard
text messaging rates may apply. Check with your carrier for details on your plan.
USF strongly recommends all faculty, staff, and students at USF use this service. Subscribers will
be prompted every 180 days to review mobile phone information and selections.

Counseling Services
The USF Counseling Center offers comprehensive
psychological services designed to enhance the personal,
social, educational, and career development of University
students. It provides personal counseling services to
students, consultative services to academic, administrative, and other service units in the
University.
Days/Hours of Operation: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., except during
University holidays.

For students in immediate distress outside of normal business hours who would like a brief
consult, or to speak with a crisis counselor after hours, call (813) 974-2831.
All registered USF students who have paid the Tampa campus student health fee are eligible for
Counseling Center services for the semester in which they are registered.

If you experience an after-hour emergency or you are not feeling well and cannot access the USF
Student Clinic, Med Express and the Florida Hospital are located within walking distance from
campus. These locations are open Monday through Friday, and Saturday and Sunday.

Dental Services
For students with INTO USF insurance, dental is not covered by the medical
policy. To easily locate a dentist, you are encouraged to research dental providers using the internet.

Consent
A patient in any medical facility has rights set in place to ensure they will receive the
best care possible during their visit. It is your right and is very important that you, the patient,
completely understand all medical procedures, treatments, or instructions that are dictated to you.
You have the right to ask the medical professional to slow down, re-explain, or request a
medical interpreter if you do not feel comfortable or fully understand what is being said or
explained.
Florida Hospital has translation services at no cost to the patient, available 24/7.
