„olympic village”, nHt-stadtbau
This excursion offers views in the way of future planning of residential and nursing homes. The tour will be guided by D. Hubert
Innerebner, CEO of Social Services of Innsbruck and Elmar Draxl,
head of NHT construction department. Not only the architecture
but also the energetic quality is remarkable. This building is an
example how to implement nearly zero energy standards within
innovative public buildings and also challenge the demographic
change in urban quarter development.
special education center, iig
To fulfill today’s standards of this special type of school, a new
school building was built on a central location near the Inn riverside in immediate neighbourhood of a masterpiece of early
modern architecture, the secondary school in Hötting. Constructed as an OIB-passivhouse, it was finished in summer 2014
and is now in use. Its flexible structure, the generous sports and
outdoor facilities, the roofed access, the elvators, and also the
underground parking complies with the very specific needs of
scholars and teachers and also with socially sustainability.
secondary school Hötting, iig
Representing one of the first school buildings planned as a secondary school at the end of the 20ties this building is also one
of the most outstanding examples of early Tyrolean modern architecture and therefore classified monument. After more than
80 years serving as a school, it has to be relaunched in a way, that
not only the new standards of pedagogy, teaching methods and
materials, lighting, acoustics and indoor air quality can be met in
future, but also the new building codes in fire protection and accessibility. A real challenge is the conservation of the reinforced
concrete structure as it has already reached the end of the calculated lifetime. Within some recent European research projects,
this beacon served for getting experiences in refurbishment of
similar historic buildings.
