Use
Mode of action:
Rhenogran BCA-40/IIR (GE 2012) is a curing activator consisting of metal
chlorides, predispersed in butyl rubber. It can be used to activate crosslinking
in resin cure systems in butyl rubber and as cure activator for halogenated
rubbers. Rhenogran BCA-40/IIR (GE 2012) is especially suitable for
manufacturing bladders and curing bags based on IIR in combination with the
resin/ZnO masterbatch Rhenogran PCZ-70/IIR.
When using Rhenogran BCA-40/IIR (GE 2012) as an activator in butyl
compounds, no chlororprene rubber (CR) has to be added and cure speed can
be adjusted by the amount of Rhenogran BCA-40/IIR (GE 2012) used. Butyl
compounds, using Rhenogran BCA-40/IIR instead of CR, show significantly
improved aging properties.
Processing:
Rhenogran BCA-40/IIR (GE 2012) can be added in the last mixing step, either
on the mill or in the internal mixer.
The thermoplastic character of the elastomer binder and the special dispersing
agents ensure rapid absorption and excellent dispersion in the rubber,
enabling the compound to benefit from the full effects of the active ingredient.
The elastomer binder is especially designed for use in IIR, however, is also
compatible with all conventional elastomer types.
