ENTER
The 2014 National Works on Paper (NWOP) is
one of Australia’s most prestigious awards and
acquisitive exhibitions. A biennial exhibition,
its role is to support and promote contemporary
Australian artists working on or with paper.

All works need to be delivered to MPRG by
14 May 2014.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
At the conclusion of the exhibition, works will
be available for collection between 24 July
and 25 July 2014. Any work not collected by 15
August 2014 will be returned to the entrant at
the entrant’s expense via IAS.
Works may be executed in any medium on
or with paper in the two years prior to March
2014. The paper must act as the main two or
three-dimensional support of the work. The
final decision regarding eligibility of works
resides with the MPRG.
All works must be in sound condition upon
arrival. Due care will be taken whilst the works
are at MPRG and in transit. No responsibility
will be taken by the MPRG for any loss or
damage.

2. ELIGIBILITY
HOW TO ENTER
NWOP is open to Australian citizens or
permanent residents of Australia.
Artists can only submit one work.

Major Acquisitive Award $15,000.

Up to $35,000 is available for acquisitions
through the Mornington Peninsula Shire
Acquisition Fund; Friends of the MPRG
Acquisition Fund and the Ursula Hoff Institute
Acquisitive Prize.
Works that are selected for acquisition will be
purchased at the artist’s nominated price if the
amount does not exceed current market value.
4. DISPLAY
Framed works will be displayed using D-rings.
No other hanging devices are to be attached to
the works. Unframed works will be displayed
using pins or magnetic ‘pins’. Artists should
supply instructions with their work where
appropriate.
Short-listed works must be available for
continuous display from 23 May to 20 July 2014.
Please note that substitutes for works selected
for exhibition will not be displayed and are
ineligible for acquisition.
MPRG reserves the right to withdraw shortlisted works if deemed unsuitable for display.
5. TRANSPORT AND INSURANCE
The MPRG will cover return freight from IAS
depots in capital cities for short-listed artists.
It is the responsibility of the short-listed artist
to organise insurance, packing and transport
of their work to and from these depots and
ensure their work is delivered to meet delivery

Short-listed artists will be required to
submit a high resolution image suitable for
publication. Artists will be notified of specific
requirements in April.
In 150 words or less artists should address
the ideas, themes or concepts investigated
in their practice and how this relates to the
work submitted.

Entries not submitted online must be saved on
either a high-quality non-re writable CD-ROM
or High Speed USB Flash Drive (memory stick)
and labelled with the artist’s name. CD-ROMs
and High Speed USB Flash Drives will not be
returned.

SUPPORTING MATERIAL
i. Images:
• Artists may submit up to three high
quality images per work.
•
One image must represent the work in its
entirety and convey the manner in which
the work is to be displayed. Up to two detailed
images of the same work may be submitted.

All Images and Word documents must be titled
in the following format:

ADMINISTRATION FEE
• Digital images must be submitted in JPEG
format (no larger than 1MB).
$30 (inc. GST). Only one work may be entered
per artist and only entries with payment will
be accepted.

The fee can be paid by Credit Card, Cheque or
Australia Post Money Order made payable to
the Mornington Peninsula Regional Gallery.
Receipts will be issued upon request.
JPEGs must be 300 DPI and titled in order
of surname, christian name and title of work.
Please indicate if the image is a detail of
the work (i.e. smart_jeffrey_selfportrait_
detail.jpg).

THE PANEL
The judges’ decision is final and no
correspondence will be entered into.
Acquisitions will be announced at the
official opening of the exhibition.
