Dear Dancers and Parents,
Thank you for your interest in joining the Nightingale Cast 2014. We were able to place all 82 dancers who auditioned! It is
very important that dancers attend all rehearsals in order for the show to be a success. As you look over the rehearsal schedule
you will notice that rehearsals are listed by primarily by “scene”.
F or example:
ALL Palace People are in scenes 1,3,4,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,19 and 20.
This is a lot of stage time and a lot of rehearsal. Sometimes you will be dancing and sometimes you will be “dressing the
stage” with your presence. There will be some rehearsals where you sit and watch others learn their dances. You are
encouraged to bring a book to read or homework. Some Rehearsals list specific characters such as “Flyers”. Some rehearsals
say “Emperor Only Scene 4” or “Nightingale Only Scene 8” - these are solo rehearsals and we do not need the rest of the
dancers in that scene. R egardless, it is important that you attend AL L of your scheduled rehearsals.
The rehearsal schedule and costume fitting schedule is subject to change. Updates will be posted on the HPSD website, on the
bulletin boards as well as emailed when possible. We look forward to working with you on Nightingale 2014!
