Questions and Answers
1)
Q:
Does the 268 C.Y. fill dirt need to be imported from off site, or can the site be
balanced?
A:
The 268 cubic yards of engineered fill that is detailed in the plans needs to be imported
from off site. Only 167 cubic yards of cut can be used as engineered fill, as it is anticipated that
100 cubic yards of the total cut will be high in organic matter and unsuitable for engineer fill.
2)
Q:
Can the water tank be repaired, filled and used to supply water for the construction
since it would need to be filled soon after anyway to keep the new tank filled with water after
the tie-in?
A:
No. You must important water from off-site.
3)
Q:
For unit prices, can you clarify the size of pipe, type of pipe, and length of pipe for the
culvert replacement?
A:
As detailed in the plans, there are three existing 12” diameter culverts, and one 18”
diameter culvert. If replacement is required, the culverts should be replaced in kind, and
extended per details in the plans. The pipes are constructed from corrugated steel.
4)
Q:
For the tree removal unit prices, can you clarify if you would like the tree to be cut in
pieces, disposed off site, or fall in place?
A:
The tree does not need to be cut into pieces, but would need to moved and disposed of
on site.
