Competitive Introduction Challenge Procedure

Challenge Process for:
COMPETITIVE COACH INTRODUCTION TRAINING
(Women’s Field)
Coaches should be aware that there is a pre-requisite for candidates attending the
COMPETITIVE COACH - DEVELOPMENT training. Candidates who presently do not already
have the Competitive Coach - Introduction (old NCCP level 2) in any lacrosse discipline are
required to attend a Competitive Introduction training session (clinic) or successfully complete
the challenge procedure.
The challenge procedure is open to those candidates who meet the minimum standard listed in
this bulletin. The minimum standard for challenging the Competitive Introduction Training &
Evaluation is:
 Certified in another sport as a coach at Competitive Introduction or higher (old
NCCP Level 2) & has played women’s field at the U-19, Sr, NCAA levels, or
 Has coached women’s field lacrosse for several seasons at a highly competitive
level (National Team, NCAA), or
 Has played women’s field lacrosse for several seasons at a highly competitive level
(National Team, NCAA).
To challenge, candidates must:
Step One
1. Submit a coaching/playing resume to their Member Association.
Step Two
1. Purchase the Competitive Introduction package (Manual and Evaluation Workbook from
the CLA office. Candidates are to read and study the manual.
2. Complete the Evaluation Workbook. The workbook is forwarded to the appropriate
authority and is marked.
Step Three
1. Complete the online Make Ethical Decisions test on the CAC site.
Step Four
1. The coach makes themselves available for an in-person evaluation of a practice, or
submits a video of them running a practice.
Candidates who fail to meet the minimum standard expected in either the workbook or the inperson/video evaluation will be required to take and complete the formal training contained in
the Competitive Introduction package.
Candidates who are successful in the challenge process will then be eligible to register for the
Competitive Coach – Development training (clinic).
