Confirmation Update
Workshops
What a sensational evening we all
had last Monday. With 100%
attendance for our first session, we
made a great start in preparation
for Confirmation – thank you
everyone for making a real effort!
A reminder we meet again next
Monday 25 August at 5.30pm.
Bishop’s Visit
Bishop Holohan commented that
the candidates were very quiet and
didn’t ask questons but he did say
everyone made an effort to listen
to him when he visited. Well done
to you all.
Catering
A huge thank you to Joo Kim
Ebsary who will be coordinating
the food on the morning of
Confirmation. If you can help in
the kitchen to prepare the food
prior to morning tea, please
contact Joo Kim. A letter is
included into this In Touch calling
for all our families to make a plate
of something sweet. Your support
with this is really appreciated.
Primary Winter Sports Carnival
Tomorrow is the Winter Sports
carnival and this year the weather
looks like it will be on our side! All
children involved will need to be in
their sports clothes (team shirts
and socks were handed to the
children today). Don’t forget to
pack some snacks, lunch and a
water bottle as there are no
designated break times so children
will need to eat during byes.
There will be a small coffee and
cake station in the Community
Centre (for a gold coin donation)
which will be there for any adults
to avail of.
I hope all teams enjoy the ‘healthy
competition’ of this day and have
some fun!

 4/5
I think the year 4/5’s favourite
type of writing is procedures
because of course we get to make
cool things! Today we made a
very yummy hedgehog slice – the
students
definitely
enjoyed
making a mess.
2/3
Week Five sees our potato program
draw to a close (sob!) Luckily we
are finishing it off with a trip to the
Bendotti Potato Factory where we
will see how the potato gets turned
into chips. We will also get to
sample some of the goodies! Some
of our word work activities for this
theme has seen us construct words
out of everyday school materials.

The assessment books are coming
home this week. Please spend the
time looking through the latest
assessments. I would like to meet
with you at some stage over the
next week to go over your child’s
assessments with you and discuss
their progress within class.
Included with this ‘In Touch’ is a
timetable slip. It would be
greatly appreciated if you could
fill in and return ASAP. Thank
you.
Good luck to all the students
participating
in
tomorrow’s
Winter Sports Carnival.
6/7
Another note of thanks to all
families for your effort in
coming
to

Monday’s
workshop – we really enjoyed
the sessions!

be heading to Manjimup for a
retreat day. We have 3 cars
travelling to Manjimup for this
day. The students will leave at

Please take the time to look
through your child’s assessment

This week we are focusing on the word ‘THANKS.’ In our classes
we have been discussing that ‘thanks’ is a very important word
and we should hear it all the time in our classrooms, on the
playground and at home. Have you been hearing this word more
often? We also talked about the importance of being thankful for
what we have and to not take things for granted.
Thanks for taking the time to read this message  Have a good
weekend.
