Our tour of the AT&T Stadium will be filled with facts and figures about the planning, engineering, operation and upkeep of this amazing structure. Our tour guide will cover more than 100 building and engineering elements that make this colossal structure unique not only as stadiums go, but unique among the great buildings and monuments in the world. Because WINUP is particularly interested in energy use and energy savings elements, our guide will be an engineer, specially directed to take us behind the scenes into areas the general public never sees, including recycling, renewable resources, how the roof retracts and how electricity is used to serve the awesome facility. 7 Jim Greer, P.E. Sr. Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Oncor Electric Delivery Jim Greer joined the Texas Utilities Company system in 1984 after completing his BS Electrical Engineering degree at the University of Texas at Arlington in 1984. In 1990, he obtained his MBA from Texas Christian University. He completed the Harvard Business School’s Advanced Management Program in 2007. Greer has held a number of management and leadership positions at Oncor and its predecessor companies, spanning such areas as engineering, operations and governmental relations. Greer is currently serving as Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for Oncor Electric Delivery. In this role, Greer oversees all distribution and transmission engineering construction, maintenance and operations, as well as system operations and measurement activities. Greer is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Texas, and serves on the Texas Board of Professional Engineers. He is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers, and was the 2010 recipient of the IEEE’s national Leadership in Power award. Greer is also a member of the Texas Society of Professional Engineers, and a past president of the Fort Worth Chapter of TSPE. 8 Mike Kania Business Development Director Eltek Mike Kania is currently the business development director for Eltek, a provider of power electronics and energy conversion products. He has been with Eltek and Valere (a power supply company acquired by Eltek) for ten years. In this role, Kania’s focus has been on the introduction of state-of-the-art dc power systems technology into new applications and new market segments. Much of his work has been associated with the introduction of high-efficiency rectifier technology and the business cases that accompany its utilization. This has included the development of products designed for telecom applications such as switching centers, wireless cell sites, and broadband access systems. Most recently, Kania has focused on the introduction of switch-mode rectifier systems into traditional industrial markets such as power generation and distribution; railroads; oil and gas; water and wastewater; mining; and industrial processing. 9 Jennifer Legere Executive Director Susan G. Komen Dallas County Executive Director Jennifer Legere leads Susan G. Komen® Dallas County in development programs that fund breast cancer detection and support projects in Dallas County. A results-driven leader, she has the ability to cultivate, recruit, motivate and build cohesive teams with volunteers and staff to achieve results. As Dallas’ leading community breast health organization, Komen Dallas County supports its neighbors in the fight today by funding lifesaving breast cancer education, screening, treatment and support services for residents in need. The organization also invests in national cutting-edge research to find the cures for tomorrow. Under Legere’s leadership this year, Komen Dallas County invested $1.8 million back into the community through grants to 11 organizations providing lifesaving breast health services to Dallas County residents. A talented and motivational speaker, Legere has addressed a range of audiences, from large conferences of thousands to intimate meetings with thought leaders. While her speaking engagements are focused on the breast cancer fight, she also is available to speak about nonprofit leadership, fundraising and aligning development with mission. Legere served in leadership roles for several national nonprofit organizations before joining Komen Dallas County in 2010. She was the director of development at Irving Healthcare Foundation, where she executed development and marketing strategies resulting in $750,000 in revenue. She has served as both national director of field fundraising and national director of special events for Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) in Irving, Texas. During her time there, she created and led the national field development efforts of MADD and was responsible for managing $20 million in revenue. 10 Legere’s nonprofit experience also includes a position as corporate market director for the American Heart Walk at the American Heart Association in Dallas as well as a senior event coordinator for the Care Van Program at Blue Cross Blue Shield in Richardson, Texas. Before moving to Texas, Legere served as the community development director for the American Cancer Society in Lansing, Mich. Legere lives in Frisco, Texas, with her husband and two children. A graduate of the University of San Antonio, she is committed to serving her community through her nonprofit career. She also has served as Sergeant of Arms at Irving Rotary Club as well as leadership roles in her children’s PTA. 11 Vinita McCellon-Allen President & Chief Operating Officer SWEPCO Venita McCellon-Allen is president and chief operating officer of Southwestern Electric Power Company (SWEPCO), serving approximately 520,000 customers in Louisiana, Arkansas, East Texas and in the Panhandle area of North Texas. She has authority for distribution operations and a wide range of customer and regulatory relationships. In addition, the position of president and chief operating officer for AEP Texas reports to her. Previously, she was executive vice president – AEP Utilities East, responsible for the distribution, customer service and financial performance of AEP’s utility operating companies in the states of Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia. From 2008 to 2009, she was executive vice president – AEP Utilities West, responsible for distribution and customer service operations in the states of Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas. From 2006 to 2008, she was president and chief operating officer of SWEPCO. From 2004 to 2006, McCellon-Allen was senior vice president - Shared Services, responsible for human resources, information technology and telecommunications, procurement and supply chain services, corporate services and enterprise security. Prior to that, she was senior vice president for human resources for Baylor Health Care System in Dallas, Texas. A 17-year veteran of Central and South West Corp., McCellon-Allen held leadership roles at CSW in operations, customer service, strategic planning and human resources. Her last position there was senior vice president for corporate development and customer service. McCellon-Allen was a leader on the Transition Management Team for the AEP-CSW merger, helping to drive the process of seeking savings, cultural change, staff selection and functional realignment. In 1983, she joined SWEPCO, then a CSW subsidiary, as a communications representative, and by 1994-95 she was SWEPCO’s Central Division manager in Texarkana, Texas. McCellon-Allen moved to Dallas in 1995 to 12 become vice president-corporate services. She became senior vice president-corporate development in 1996 and senior vice president for both customer relations and corporate development in 1998. Joining Baylor Health Care System in September 2000, McCellon-Allen worked within the BHCS integrated health care delivery network that included 14,000 employees and about $3 billion in annual revenues. McCellon-Allen earned a bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University. She is also a graduate of the University of Chicago’s Executive Development Program and the Young Managers Program at the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business. 13 Donna L. Nelson Chairman Public Utility Commission Donna L. Nelson was appointed by Governor Rick Perry to the Public Utility Commission on August 15, 2008 and named chairman on July 26, 2011. Prior to her appointment, Nelson served as a special assistant and advisor to Governor Perry on energy and telecommunication issues. She also assisted the Governor’s Competitiveness Council with the preparation of the Texas 2008 State Energy Plan. She previously served as director of the PUC’s telecommunications section and as legal advisor to the PUC chairman. Chairman Nelson sits on the Board of the Electric Reliability Council of Texas and is a member of the Southwest Power Pool Regional State Committee. She is active with the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners, where she is a member of the Committee on Energy Resources and the Environment and the Task Force on Environmental Regulation and Generation. Nelson is a member of the Texas Bioenergy Policy Council and the Texas Broadband Task Force. She is also on the Advisory Board of the Annual Baseline Assessment of Choice in Canada and the United States (ABACCUS). Additionally, Nelson is a former assistant attorney general of Texas, where she specialized in antitrust law. She also worked as a Legislative Assistant to a United States Senator. Nelson is a licensed attorney and a past member of the Texas Council on Autism and Pervasive Developmental Delays. Nelson received a bachelor's degree from Black Hills State College and a law degree from Texas Tech University. She resides in Austin with her son, John. 14 Denise Kuehn Director of Energy Efficiency Services Austin Energy Denise Kuehn is the Director of Energy Efficiency Services at Austin Energy in Austin, Texas. Under nominal direction of the Deputy General Manager, she manages, oversees and directs the implementation of Austin Energy’s demand side management programs for the residential, commercial, multifamily and industrial sectors. Utilizing an approximately $25 million budget and 60 full-time, contract and temporary employees, Kuehn plans, directs and coordinates the accomplishing of the 800 MW demand reduction goal by 2020 aligning with the City of Austin’s Climate Protection Plan and integrating the Energy Conservation Audit and Disclosure (ECAD) ordinance into the community for all four business sectors. Kuehn received her M.B.A. from Bellevue University and her degree in Electrical Engineering at the University of Nebraska. Over her twenty five-year career in the utility and demand side management area, she has worked for three utility companies, an engineering consulting firm and Johnson Controls. She has led numerous strategic planning, process improvement and change management efforts. Kuehn was a founding member of three groups all focused on sustainability at the City level with the Green Omaha Coalition; state-wide with the Nebraska Energy Efficiency Partners; and nationally with the Large Public Power Council Energy Efficiency Working Group. Kuehn was chairperson of the Energy Assistance Program, a board member of several groups including Keep Omaha Beautiful, the Nebraska Stakeholder Code Advisory Board and the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers where she was awarded the Best Chapter President and Outstanding Chapter Award for Region IX. 15 Robert (Bob) McCall General Manager of Fleet Services Duke Energy Bob McCall is the General Manager of Fleet Services for Duke Energy where he is responsible for managing all aspects of the fleet of over 12,000 vehicles and mobile equipment. The Duke Energy fleet, valued at over $600 million, operates in 6 states. He is responsible for 58 maintenance locations with over 350 employees and an annual overall fleet budget of over $150 million. McCall is originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He attended Tuskegee University and majored in Building Technology/Construction. He worked ten years with Bechtel Power Corporations in construction, maintenance and operations of nuclear power plants, and worked eight years for Alliant Entergy in Iowa at the Duane Arnold Energy Center. McCall worked with Progress Energy as Plant Manager for the Lee Plant in Goldsboro, making him the first African-American plant manager. He was promoted to General Manager for the Eastern Region Fossil Generation Department. McCall's outside activities include: Public speaking to youth and men’s groups, volunteer for the Special Olympics, Habitat for Humanity houses, United Way Campaign, Chamber Board of Directors, Wilmington Business Development Board of Directors, and LNC Board. McCall's motto is “Make a difference everywhere you go.” 16 Linda Boriskie Safety Specialist Oncor Electric Delivery Linda Boriskie has been employed by Oncor Electric Delivery for 23 years in the Safety, Health and Mutual Assistance Department as a Safety Specialist. She is a Registered Nurse with B.S.N. from St. Thomas University, M.S.N. from Texas Women’s University, and PostGraduate studies in Medical Anthropology at Southern Methodist University. In addition to occupational health, her nursing experiences include public health, maternal/child, school health and hospice. Fitness Certifications which support living a longer, healthier life were received from the Cooper Institute of Aerobic Research; Dallas, Texas. She was the first female firefighter-paramedic in the Dallas Fire Rescue Department. She is a 35 year veteran Firefighter and Paramedic who was hired in 1977 and retired in 2011. Wilson currently serves as the Founder, President and CEO of Emergency Management Resources LLC, (EMR) and FireHouseCommunications.Com. EMR specializes in emergency healthcare training and providing business and industry with AED programs. AED programs include: equipment, web-based tracking of equipment, medical direction, third party inspections and training. EMR provides all levels of American Heart Association Basic Life Support and Advance Life Support (Adult & Pediatric) training, a wide variety of OSHA safety and health training and leadership courses. Wilson has served on editorial and advisory boards for Industrial Fire World magazine, Emergency Medical Services magazine, Texas EMS magazine, and as a reviewer of EMS text for both Mosby Lifeline and Brady Publishing. She has more than fifty published Fire, EMS and Emergency incident related articles, publications and conference presentations. She has authored two manuals, Rescue Team Training, published by Emergency Management Resources and Medical Terminology, published by Fun Ed Inc. Wilson is currently working on her third book about her life and career as the first female firefighter, paramedic in Dallas. Faith On Fire is scheduled for publication summer 2015. Wilson has also served in a number of leadership roles within the American Heart Association including ECC Committee member, International Volunteer Trainer in Russia, India and Mexico. She currently serves as a Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Pediatric Life Support Regional Faculty. Wilson received a Bachelor of Science in Public Administration from Hawthorne University and completed Paramedic training at the University Texas Health Science Center, Dallas, Texas. She is a graduate of Landmark Education Leadership and Communication Programs. Wilson has experience in the Medical, Healthcare, Education, Entrepreneurism and Success arena’s. She performs one hour, half day or full day workshops. 18 Debbie Dennis Senior Vice President Human Resources & Corporate Affairs Oncor Electric Delivery Debbie Dennis is Senior Vice President, Human Resources and Corporate Affairs for Oncor. In her current role, she has responsibility for all human resource planning, policy, performance management, rewards strategies, sourcing, talent management and employee and labor relations. She is also responsible for the strategic direction of Oncor’s community involvement and volunteer initiatives and their alignment with the Company’s philanthropic and business goals. This includes serving as the executive sponsor of Oncor’s employee volunteer programs and directing Oncor’s signature volunteer program, Oncor Texas Trails. Dennis also serves as the Loaned Executive Director for the Dallas Mayor’s Youth Fitness Initiative, which is a public private partnership with the City of Dallas with a vision to make Dallas kids the healthiest kids in the nation. In her 35 years with the company, Dennis has worked in a number of corporate and customer service functions. She has management experience in human resources, customer service, supply chain, outsourcing management and corporate philanthropy. Dennis currently serves on a number of non-profit boards including the American Foundation for the Blind, YWCA, Leadership Dallas and The Dallas Assembly. She is also the loaned executive director of the Dallas Mayor’s Youth Fitness Initiative, a community and corporate partnership. Dennis graduated from Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree and is a member of the Society of Human Resource Management.
