Then Jesus said to his disciples,"If anyone would
come after me, he must deny himself and take up his
cross and follow me. For whoever wants to save his
life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will
find it. What good will it be for a man if he gains the
whole world, yet forfeits his soul? Or what can a
man give in exchange for his soul?"

aortography, head and neck and peripheral angiography and organ
perfusion studies.
This scanner is the world’s first High Definition CT scanner. It
uses a newly developed “Gemstone” detector with speed 100 times
faster than other current detectors, which enables faster and higher
sampling as well as dual energy sampling during a single rotation.
With its ultra-high sampling rate, the scanner gives a high spatial
resolution which helps the radiologist to potentially see more than
what is possible on other high end CT scanners. The machine has
the highest available cardiac spatial resolution and is capable of
an effective temporal resolution of 29 mS which helps to virtually
freeze and scan the heart at higher speeds. It has an advanced

reconstruction technique (ASiR), which enables reduction
in pixel noise, as well as reduction in the required dose by
up to 50% for any study. Some of the advanced clinical and
research applications of the machine include artifact
suppression, material separation (e.g. separate fat, blood,
contrast, calcium) and perfusion quantification of any organ.
It can measure the absolute mean atomic number of a
material which can help in differentiating types of renal stones,
plaque quantification as well as differentiate the types of
plaque by their energy attenuation response characteristics.
We thank God for this new machine and technology made
available to us and pray that it would be used to best serve
the many who come to our institution.
