Dear Parents, Carers and Students
I will be taking next week off as long service leave
as my family prepares for our son’s wedding. As it
this is the first of my four children to marry you can
imagine our excitement!
Adrian Perry will assume responsibility of the
school in my absence.
School Board
There are two vacancies for parent representatives on
the School Board as a result of the resignation of
Maree Gooch and Jeremiah Samoa.
Nominations are now being sought to fill these places.

Voting will be necessary if there are more than two
parents interested in this role.
 You must be a parent with a child currently
enrolled at Falcon PS;
 You must be prepared to attend two meetings
each term. These are held on a Wednesday
from 2.00pm;
 Your tenure will initially be two years but you
can renominate;

Arinda Kruger, Maree Gooch, Cathy McIntosh and
Jermiah Samoa.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank Maree
Gooch and Jerry Samoa for their contribution to the
Board. Maree has undertaken the important leadership
role of Chair with distinction whilst Jerry has made
sensible input to decisions taken. My best wishes to
both Maree and Jerry for the future.

Students must attend school clean, neat and in
full uniform as per the school Dress Code.
Classrooms are open at 8.35am with the start of
school at 8.50am.
The speed limit around the school is 40km per
hour. Please drive sensibly and with utmost care
and please do not double park around the
school.
Sick children should be kept at home.
Make sure you attend your child’s MEET and
GREET the teacher sessions.
Complete and return all consent forms.
Tummy Rumble (Canteen) - Message from Gerry
Welcome back everyone.
Once again we are desperate for volunteers so if you are able to help in any way, please
contact Gerry on 9534 2936. Morning tea and lunch are provided.
When writing your child’s order please make sure you have the correct room number.
Recess orders are to be written on the unprinted white bags supplied. These can be
placed into the lunch order bag.

Voluntary Contributions Now Due!!
$60 per Student per Year
Thank you to all families who have promptly paid their voluntary contributions to the
school. With the recent government funding cuts these payments are critically important to
our school and programs. We rely heavily on this payment and in 2014 ask parents to
consider payment of these contributions early in the year. Contributions can be paid
online, please make payment direct to the school bank account: Falcon Primary School

Ensure that you use your child’s name and room number.

Welcome back to 2014!
The Smelly Shoe Club has begun, so join us from 8.20am to 8.35am every
Tuesday and Thursday. Afterwards enjoy a healthy breakfast in the
undercover area.
The Year 6/7 students have participated in the first Summer Sport activity
session this morning. We hope you have all enjoyed your chosen activity.
The next session will be on Friday, 7th March.

Virtues Focus
Cleanliness
The focus virtue for weeks 3 and
4 is cleanliness. Cleanliness
means washing often, keeping
your body clean and wearing
clean clothes. It is also keeping
your surroundings tidy and
uncluttered.
Please come and see the beautiful work on
display in the front office by Mrs Phillips’
Room 4.2 students.
School Banking Is Coming Soon!
The good news is that thanks to the
P&C, Falcon Primary School will soon be
participating in the Commonwealth School
Banking Program.
What a great opportunity for the
children to develop important saving skills
with their own money!
What to do now? Stay tuned as further information
will be announced soon.

The P&C have limited stock of the Falcon Primary School Cookbook produced in
2010. If you would like a copy at a discounted price of $5.00, please see Bec
Fogarty in the Uniform Shop on Friday mornings. Please be quick as we only
have a few copies left!
Missing Glasses?
Is your child missing their reading glasses?
The front office has 4 pairs of children’s reading glasses that have been handed
in. Please call into Administration if you think they might be yours!
We also have 5 pairs of adult sunglasses!
SACRAMENTAL PROGRAM FOR
Catholic CHILDREN ATTENDING
NON CATHOLIC SCHOOLS
As the new school year begins, parents are
invited to contact Dennise Hennessy from
the Dawesville Catholic Church 9535 4341 if
they would like their children to receive
any of the sacraments of the church in 2014.
i.e. Baptism, Reconciliation, First Holy
Communion or Confirmation.
The Peel Junior Soccer
Association are holding their registration
days on Saturday 15th February 2014 3 to
5pm and Sunday 23rd February 2014 10am
to 12pm at Bortolo Pavilion in Greenfields
(late registrations will be available after these
dates to top up teams if you are unable to
attend either of the registration days). The
