Dear Members of the Class of 2014: The day you have been waiting for is finally here! I know that you must have mixed feelings about leaving The New York Institute for Special Education. You have been here for many years with us. During this time you have developed strong bonds of friendship . As you go on to your new school always remember how important these relationships have been. I hope you will try to stay in touch and share your new experiences and continue to get support from your Van Cleve friends. After graduation, think back to the days on the playground, your role in the musical performances, sharing your poems at the Poetry Slams, and even just walking on the campus. These memories will help you when you are having a difficult day in a new situation. Remember that you were successful and you can always be with hard work. When you feel upset, I encourage you to think and then act. This will help you in everything you do in life. Please remember that NYl is here to support and help you. I hope you will come back and let us know how you are doing. Congratulations and good luck always, Bernadette M. Van Cleve is and always will be my favorite school. There are many memories I will cherish from Van Cleve. I met my best friends in Van Cleve during the years I was here. Those were the best times in my life so far. Now I'm leaving and I'm a bit sad I am hoping high school won't be so bad . I'm hoping that some of my friends will be there with me. And that we can make more memories together. So long Van Cleve, Hello future.
