KINVARA NEWS
Kinvara Civic Association
Spring 2014 Issue
2013-2014 OFFICERS
A note from the President:
The Kinvara Civic Association has been more successful recently due to the
infusion of new energetic and caring neighbors joining the board and
committees. The home-owners in Kinvara are in a great situation to take
advantage of all that our neighborhood can provide. Kinvara is a gem of a
neighborhood and I could not imagine a better place to call home. Kinvara
will continue to be this and more for all who live here, because of the
dedicated volunteers in our association that continually look out for the
interest of all our residents. The time has come for me to step down as
President of the KCA and pass the torch to Matt DeReno at the upcoming
election. I fully endorse Matt for his energetic and enthusiastic approach to
the Kinvara Civic Association. My departure make room for the next
generation living in Kinvara that wish to make their neighborhood a place
to call home, and a place that can fulfill their dreams and passions about
where they have chosen to live.

KCA is always evolving and at this time we are seeking volunteers to fill
the following vacant positions:
Newsletter: Duties include receiving all articles for the officers and
committee members. Organizing the articles in Microsoft Word in a
presentable form mostly by cut and paste methods, edit for spelling and
grammar, then arrange for printing at Kinko’s and delivery of the printed
newsletters to the Distribution Committee Chairperson. If you have any
further questions, please contact Matt DeReno at 412-969-1342.
I wish to thank each committee member, board member and officers for their continued efforts
and time in keeping Kinvara “A Great Place to Live.” Together we will continue to offer much
too each and every resident here in Kinvara. We are making a difference. As always if you have
any comments, questions, or ideas, please contact a Committee Chair, Officer, Board Member or
myself.

Helpful Neighborhood Bits
McKnight Meals on Wheels: Operating at Berkeley Hills Lutheran Church, McKnight
Meals on Wheels is seeking volunteers to help with meal preparation in the kitchen, to drive,
deliver, shopping, and to donate desserts. If you have any free morning time (M-F), please call
Chef Bob at 412-487-4088. Thank you for helping your Ross Twp. neighbors.
Morning Care in my Home: If you have found the new later bus schedule is making you
later for work, I may be able to help you. I have been a Kinvara resident since 1984 and have
assisted many neighborhood families with morning care before school, and the dreaded 2 hour
delays. Call me at 412-486-4696 if I can be of service. Joyce Lipkin at 206 Kinvara Drive.
NEIGHBORHOOD FOOD DRIVE
Last November 9th, we held a neighborhood-wide food collection to benefit North Hills
Community Outreach. Our generous donations yielded over 300 items. The format to pick up
the goods from front doorsteps was a success and we look forward to another food drive later
this year. Please watch for an E-Blast regarding future food-drives.
