Kim S. Cassara is the Director of Projects, Design and Construction for Savannah River
Remediation (SRR). In this capacity, she is responsible for execution of all Engineering,
Procurement and Construction (EPC) projects as well as design and construction scope for
SRR. She is responsible for leading a workforce of over 250 project, design and
construction personnel, and a workforce of 350 construction craft personnel. In addition to
her SRR Manager role, Ms. Cassara is an SRR Vice President representing Bechtel
National Inc. in the SRR partnership.

Ms. Cassara has over 33 years of experience in the fields of project and program
management and execution, environmental restoration and compliance, and hazardous
waste management. She is certified by the Project Management Institute as a Project
Management Professional, and is a Champion in the Six Sigma process, which is a national
business management strategy with the goal of reducing costs and improving quality.
Prior to her current position, Ms. Cassara served as Vice President of Bechtel Savannah
River Inc. and Director for Washington Savannah River Company (WSRC) Projects, Design
and Construction Services Division. She previously served as manager of projects for the
WSRC Liquid Waste program, where her responsibilities included numerous high-level
waste storage, processing and removal projects.
During her career, she has held positions of increasing management responsibility,
including senior project manager of the WSRC Tritium Consolidation and Modernization
project, which earned the 2001 National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA)
Knowledge Sharing Award, 2004 Secretary of Energy’s Award of Achievement, and 2004
NNSA Acquisition and Supply Management Award for Excellence.
Prior to joining WSRC, Ms. Cassara was a technical engineer for E.I. du Pont de Nemours
and Company, where she had responsibilities for technical support to a chemical
manufacturing plant in Texas and for radioactive waste management in South Carolina.
Ms. Cassara is a past Vice President of Marketing for the Project Management Institute,
Augusta, Georgia, Chapter. She is currently a member of the University of South Carolina
Aiken Partnership Board of Directors and the National Management Association, and is a
graduate of Leadership Augusta, Class of 2007, and is also a graduate of the 2013
Leadership Columbia County Executive Forum, which are focused on developing
community leaders. Ms. Cassara is also a member of the Government Affairs Committee
and Industrial Council for the Columbia, Georgia, County Chamber of Commerce.
She and her husband, Bill, have two children. They live in Evans, Georgia.
