Il développe, depuis une quinzaine d’années, un agenda de recherche associant dynamiques familiales, parcours de vie et réseaux de relations interpersonnelles. Cherchant à expliciter les facteurs de structuration des familles contemporaines, et leurs effets sur les parcours de vie individuels, ces travaux montrent que l’apparente diversité des formes familiales contemporaines est sous-tendue par quelques modèles fondamentaux, touchant tant à leur fonctionnement qu’à leurs structures.
