Third Ken Reed Memorial Concert Holy Trinity Church, Salcombe 15th Nov 2014 The BOMVC visited Holy Trinity Church, Salcombe as guests of the Friends of Trinity Church for their annual ‘Ken Reed Memorial Concert’. Now in its third year, the concert is in memory of a man who was a key figure in making the church what it is today. The choir sang a wide range of songs from its current repertoire including a piece called ‘Crossing the Bar’. This was chosen as the words written by Alfred Lord Tennyson are thought to refer to the sand bar in the Salcombe estuary. The choir sang these words to the tune ‘Freshwater’. An away visit is always welcome and the welcome received by the choir was no exception and much appreciated.
