Minutes of Waterbeach PPG Meeting Thursday 11th Sept. 2014
1. Present: Thora Saunders, Lynn Halford, Janine Elsegood, Viv Cooper, Ray
Gambell, Betty Jones, Jan Robinson

2. Minutes of last meeting agreed

4. Practice Manager News:
 DES is well underway and positively received by those patients affected
 Information screen is up and running in the waiting room
 Flu clinics are up and running and information will be in Beach News as well
as the surgery. It is beneficial to the surgery to go there rather than anywhere
else
 The funding loss over the next 4years is £85,000 which may lead to some
loss of services like blood taking and pressure bandaging, but the doctors
hope to offset the loss by taking on GP training for example from October
onwards. The doctors are happy for the group and individuals to contact our
MP, James Paice expressing our concern and disappointment.
 A volunteer and/or part-time gardener for the surgery is being sought.
 Improvements to the bike stand at the surgery are to be made.
5. Diabetes Open Meeting is on Mon. 20th Oct. at Denson Close will be given by
Angela
Irvine. Margaret has booked the room and will organise
refreshments. Help will be appreciated on the day. Viv handed out posters for
distribution.
6. Terms of reference .Viv raised the idea we should draft some terms of reference
for Waterbeach PPG to ensure that its future is assured regardless of personnel.
7. CATCH. Viv reported back from the LCG meeting held earlier today. The decision
on Commissioning of Older People’s care will be made shortly.
 The LCG wants information from all surgeries about booking
appointments and to find out if patients are happy or not.
 There was a presentation from the LCG’s Ear Nose and Throat
administrator. She is keen to have feedback from patients about their
experiences of hearing tests etc
8. AOB. Viv had put an article in the Beach News
