Student Profile
“I’d been out of the workforce for a long
time bringing up children. It was time well
spent, but I’d lost confidence and needed
to upskill.
I chose the National Certificate in Service
Sector at TPP because it has a strong
hospitality and tourism focus. I wanted to
improve my customer service skills and
learn to be a barista.
It was fun being a mature student
and the course definitely helped me
transition back into work. I now work
part-time at Shantytown and I’m also
doing a NZ Diploma in Business at TPP.
Ultimately, I’d like to be a hotel general
manager.”

The Tai Poutini "edge"
Tai Poutini is nestled between the wild Tasman Sea and the
grand Southern Alps. People who live on the West Coast
know what it takes to live on the edge. Confidence, skills
and a "can do, will do" attitude set them apart.
TPP graduates are out there on the edge doing it!
He aha te mea nui o te ao?
He tangata, he tangata, he tangata!
What is the most important thing in the world?
It is people, it is people, it is people!
