1 DAAD Call for Applications “Leadership for Syria” (LFS) Scholarship programme for Bachelor, Master or PhD studies in Germany Caveat: The following information only applies to Syrians residing in Jordan. If you are a Syrian living in Syria or in another country please consult directly www.daad.de/syria What is LFS? The special scholarship programme “Leadership for Syria” (LfS) aims to support the academic qualification and advancement of young Syrian academics and scientists in Germany. In times of civil war and displacement in their home country, this programme intends to give a sustainable contribution to build a future elite of leaders who will play a central role in rebuilding the country. LfS offers scholarships (Bachelor, Master, PhD) for studies in Germany to qualified applicants in all fields of study except medicine, veterinary medicine, dentistry, law, the arts and architecture. All LfS scholarship holders profit from a mandatory side programme which has to be completed in addition to the degree studies. Who can apply? The programme targets highly qualified Syrian high school graduates and students who fulfil the conditions and intend to actively contribute to the reconstruction of Syria after the end of the civil war. Applicants must fulfil the following conditions: Syrian citizenship or permanent residence in Syria before 2011 AND registration as a refugee with UNHCR in Jordan. Applicants without UNHCR registration are not eligible. Please read the call for applications (www.daad.de/syria) very carefully for comprehensive information on the other requirements. Amongst others a high command of English as specified (if an English study programme is chosen) is absolutely mandatory. 2 Application procedure: 1. Read the call for application very carefully: www.daad.de/syria 2. Find a suitable study programme in Germany. Go to www.daad.de/idp for ALL study programmes (Bachelor, Master and PhD) in English language. If you want to apply for a study programme in German language please consult www.studyin.de 3. Go back to www.daad.de/syria and check the requirements and application procedure again and start your mandatory online registration which includes uploading the required documents 4. Print out the online application and submit two copies at the DAAD Information Center in Amman Application Deadline: December 15th 2014 for the online registration The applications have to be submitted at the latest at the DAAD Information Center Amman until December 16th 2014, 04:00 pm. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered!
