eLearning platform ILIAS
ILIAS is the abbreviation of „Integrated Learning, Information and work cooperation system. With this system
web-based learning courses can be designed, managed
and provided.
Log in to the platform via
https://ilias.hs-karlsruhe.de
with your IZ-credentials.
You can find the courses by selecting MAGAZIN.
Attention: Do not use the mail program ”MAIL“ in ILIAS.

Access-protected services of external providers
Based on Shibboleth and the DFN-AAI - Authentication
and Authorization-Infrastructure (https://www.aai.dfn.
de) you have access to some access-protected services of
external providers outside the university network (eg at
home or on the road) with your HsKA-IZ credentials.
Shibboleth generates for each service a digital ID card
with your personal data, which is needed to use the
service and which must be submitted to the service
provider.
The registration via Shibboleth is done directly for some
services. Others services require the pre-selection of
your home institution (Hochschule Karlsruhe).
In each case, you will access the following login page for
the desired service.

Event management system LSF
LSF ”Lecture study research (Forschung)“ is a web based
event management system that provides daily updated
online information about (lecture) events and room
reservations.
Lecture plans and room reservations are provided in different views. You can select your lectures and create your
customized timetable.
Log in with your IZ access data.
Lecture plans can be found via the link ”Veranstaltungen“ (without login).

For all unresolved IT issues that your IT- administrator cannot help you with, the IZ user helpdesk can be

New students receive their IZ access data (IZ-Zugangsdaten) in the document „initiale IZ-Zugangsdaten “ via the
online-service „studentische Selbstverwaltung“

For your first log-on as a new student,
proceed as follows:
• Field ”IZ-Benutzername“: Matriculation number (see Campus-Card)
• Field ”Passwort“:

On the page ”Studiumsverwaltung“ / ”Studienbescheinigungen“ you will find the document ”initiale IZ-Zugangsdaten“, which contains your IZ access data .
For more information about the IZ access data please
see the flyer ”Basic IT Services“.
Attention:
From now on, please log in with your IZ username from
the document ”initiale IZ Zugangsdaten“ and the IZ
password. The access with matriculation number and
password from your application to the ”studentische
Selbstverwaltung“ is valid only for the first weeks of your
course of studies.
Forgotten the password from your application?
If you have forgotten your password from your application, or if you don‘t have such a password, you can get
a new one, or create one, with the webform ”Bewerberpasswort Service“ at the address

TAN list for students
For some sensitive operations you need a six-digit security TAN (TAN = Transaction number) . You have to create a
TAN-List yourself.
Log into the „studentische Selbstverwaltung“ at
http://www.hs-karlsruhe.de/ssv
and click on ”TAN Verwaltung“ (TAN administration).
Attention: At beginning of your studies, there will be
two valid TANs available, so called initial TANs. They
consist of your date of birth:
• first initial TAN:

• second initial TAN: yymmdd

Generate your TAN list in three (3) steps:
1. Create the TAN list,using the first initial TAN.
2.Save or print the TAN list.
3.Activate the TAN list with the second valid TAN and
a TAN out of the newly created list.
