estled somewhere in the back of beyond, lies the
perfect setting of forest eternal and colonial cottage
but it was necessary not just to replicate the surrounds
of the Les Brassus Manufacture but also the fine artisans
working within the confines of the 18th century locale.
For the course of two evenings, a hillside English home
at 18 Mount Pleasant Drive played host to the finest
confluence of haute de gamme watchmaking and cuisine;
With an eight-course dinner prepared by Michelin
Star chef Julien Lavigne, The Millenary and senior
executives of Blancpain, Marc Junod and Jalil El KouchBordier, entertained her guests, discussing everything
from the allure of the world’s first luxury diving watch

– the Fifty Fathoms (now in available in underwater
operating chronograph form) to the Calendrier
Chinois Traditionnel and then partaking in exquisite
desgustation through the night to great success.
Originally slated for two hours, the event and the live
Jazz accompaniment endured past midnight as tête-àtête between the members of the Society of Millenarists
and executives from Blancpain drew conversational
fodder from the diverse range of topics ranging from
the rich heritage of the Manufacture to the enjoyment
provided by the finer things in life, in some cases,
purchase of a Maldives property by one of the attendees.
La Dolce Vita indeed.
