Allah, the most High, says: “And verily, We have sent among every Ummah (nation, community) a Messenger (proclaiming): Name of Messenger “Worship Allah (alone)”, and avoid (or keep away from) Taghut (all false deities).” [An-Nahl/16: 36] “And He, the Exalted, said: Verily we have sent you (O Muhammad) with the truth, a bearer of glad tidings, and a warner. And there never was a nation but a warner had passed among them.” [Faatir/35: 24] Nation 1: Adam The first nation of humankind formed of his offspring 2: Nuh Nations before the great flood 3: Hud 4: Salih 5: Ibrahim Location No authentic sources are found detailing his location on earth - The following are some of the Messengers whose names we know of by textual proofs from the Quran and/or the authentic Sunnah: He is the first prophet. In his time, people were on Tawhid so there was no need for messengership He is the first Messenger. The disbelievers in his time were destroyed by the flood, including his own son. Al-Arab al-Baa’idah (the extinct Arabs) An ancient nation that lived after Nuh in the curved sandhills in the southern part of the Arabian peninsula. They were intelligent and prosperous but disobedient to Allah. When they turned away from the Message of Tawhid, Allah destroyed them with violent westerly winds. See Al-Quran 7: 59 and 65, 46: 21 and 69: 6. Said to be descendants of Irem (Aram), the son of Saam, the son of Nuh. Al-Arab al-Baa’idah (the extinct Arabs) An ancient nation that lived after Nuh in the rock tract in the northwest part of the Arabian peninsula. As Hud, the people of Salih were descendants of Irem. They rejected Tawhid and so were destroyed by Saa’iqah (torment, thunderbolts). See Al-Quran 11: 61-68, 51: 44, 41: 13, 91: 11 As-Saabi’ah An ancient nation who lived in ancient Iraq. They worshipped the planets (sun, moon, stars). Then he emigrated to Palestine in Ash-Shaam Allah granted him Ishaq and Isma’il. He came with his son Isma’il to Mekah and from the lineage of Isma’il, the greatest of all Prophets and Messengers, Muhammad, was born. See Al-Quran: 6:74-84, 14: 3739, 2: 125-132 Location Virtues 6: Lut These people ascribed Peoples of the partners to Allah towns of Sodom and and committed Gomorah homosexuality/ sodomy. Lut was a student of ‘Ibrahim who sent him to Sodom’s people to invite them to Tawhid. They rejected the call and they were destroyed by violent storms of stones (haasib). See Al-Quran 11:70, 74; 81,89; 15:59, 61; 22: 43; 26: 160-161, 167; 27: 56; 29: 26; 38:13; 50:13; 54: 33-34; 66:10. 7: Isma’il To the tribes of Al-Amaliqah and Jurhum Yemeni tribes. In the mountains around Mekah. He was born before his brother Prophet Ishaq and he received revelation but we do not know about the name of the revelation. In Palestine He is the father of Prophet Ya’qub (Israil). Yunus was sent to Ninawa in northern Iraq, Ayyub and Dzul-Kifl sent to around Damascus, Syria. Idris is wrongly stated by some historians to be before Nuh. See Al-Quran 2:136; 4: 163; 6: 83-86; 21: 85. Sent to the people of Madyan - Sent to humankind and jinn. Close to Ma’an area, southwest of Jordan. - The Message was revealed to him in Mekah. His people are from the descendants of Madyan, son of Ibrahim. See Al-Quran 11:84. Reported by Imam Ahmad and authenticated by Ibn Hajar: The sun was delayed from setting following Yusha’s invocation so that he could conclude his Jihad on the way to Baytul Maqdis.
