V140505 Megaport Tech Specs About Megaport Services A Megaport is a high speed Ethernet interface allowing rapid connections between data centres, service providers and peering partners. Available interface speeds are 10Gpbs, 40Gpbs and 100Gpbs. Megaports are configured as 802.1Q VLAN trunks to support multiple services on a single port. The MegaIX Internet Exchange, and Virtual Cross Connects (VXC) are each presented as a unique VLAN. Virtual Cross Connect – VXC VXCs are private, point-to-point Ethernet pseudo-wires presented as a VLAN between two Megaports. All VXCs have a large MTU of 9100 bytes, support Q-in-Q and are transparent to most protocols. VXCs between Megaports in the same state have no speed or data usage limits. VXCs are available in bandwidth increments of 1Mbps, up to 100Gbps.
