GOOD NEWS!
Network Housing Group announced at the community
fun day on Saturday 26th July that the association will
benefit from affordable homes grant funding allocation
from the Homes Community Agency.
This has helped us to
achieve the crucial
funding we have been
waiting for to enable
us to deliver phases
3 -5 of the
regeneration
proposals.
Chief Executive
Helen Evans said,
“We are delighted
with this result
and this will bring
more homes to
the scheme.”
Helen Evans
Stephen Pound MP said,
“I’m delighted to hear that the
Greater London Authority has
agreed the much needed funding
to complete the work being done
on Rectory Park. This money will
make a huge difference to so many
Stephen Pound MP lives. Rectory Park has always been
a great community and very soon we will have the
buildings worthy of that community.
Thanks to you all for your patience, to John Hopkins
and the team for their incredible efforts and to the
Network Housing Group for being good friends
and partners.”

Ealing Council’s leader,
Councillor Julian Bell said,
“What great news for Rectory Park,
I’m so pleased for all the residents.
This extra funding means it’s full
steam ahead to complete the rest
of the regeneration to deliver
more homes and make lasting
improvements that will benefit the
whole community.”
Cllr. Julian Bell
Twinkle Totz, the estate based nursery
operating out the community centre are
seeking local apprentices. We successfully
recruited Liz, Ansan and Rebecca who all live
on the estate and are currently training and
working towards NVQ’s in Child Care.

COMMUNITY INVESTMENT • RECTORY PARK • COMMUNITY INVESTM
Since the start of the year we have moved 38 residents into new houses in
Casey Avenue and Weyman Court and a further 54 new residents will move to
Harman Court. Residents have told us about the positive changes of moving and
becoming a Network Stadium resident.

Shout
Hayley Ryan said,
“I thought I would
be disappointed
that I didn’t get a
house. But I was
wrong. I really like
my balcony and I’m
happy to call it
home. I love it!!!”
Mr Kheedo said,
“I really love my
new property, it is
so spacious and
well adapted to
suit my needs”
Beryl Potter said,
“I really do like
my new home, it’s
exactly what I
expected it to be”
Rectory Park goes to Southend-on-Sea
As part of the on going regeneration of Rectory
Park, Network Housing Group (NHG) are
committed to community cohesion and investment.
We do this through various mechanisms such as: training,
apprenticeships, employment, I.T. workshops to name a few.
Another way we also do this is by arranging and subsidising
activities for our regenerating communities, as we realise
during holiday times it can be quite expensive to do
things with children, friends and families.
4
Therefore, we arranged a trip
to Southend-on-Sea. NHG and
Rectory Park Residents Association
sponsored the trip through the
community chest. The coach
sold out with over 40 residents,
with their friends and families,
venturing on the trip to
Southend-on-Sea.

Fun Day
Mayor of Ealing, Cllr. Tej Ram
Bagha greets kids having fun
at the fun day.
The fun day on Saturday 26th July welcomed further new
members to the community.
Residents who are moving into Harman Court (named after the
late Harry Harman) had the opportunity to meet with members of
the residents association and project team. The new residents will
start to move into the new properties from September onwards.
Thank you to our sponsors:
The residents’ feedback was as follows:
“This was a great trip, I really enjoyed myself and
I cannot wait ‘till we go on another trip, things like
this should be arranged more often.”
Another resident said, “I’m so grateful for this trip
as it would have been unaffordable for me if I
wanted to visit Southend-on-Sea with my family.”
Celebrating 40 years of
Network Housing Group
Robert Carroll, NHG Community Regeneration Officer
said, “It is important that we identify opportunities to help
the community to come together and enjoy themselves.
You see residents engage with people they don’t normally
speak to and have a really good old laugh. This would not
happen on a normal day to day, so it is really nice to see
NHG glue the community fabric to our values.”

Carpenter Apprenticeship
THE JOB
A building isn’t all about bricks and mortar. Timber is an essential part
of just about every structure and it’s the carpenter and joiner’s job to
prepare it and put it into place. It’s a skilled job that utilises special
tools, and often involves many different kinds of wood.
THE PERSON
If you enjoy using your hands, have good hand and eye co-ordination
and enjoy being part of a team then a carpenter or joiner could be the
ideal role for you.
Good numerical skills would be desirable, as you’ll be calculating
angles and measurements.
REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must be 18+, willing to train
and achieve an NVQ and willing to travel.
If this sounds like you then please
get in touch with Robert Carroll
Community Regeneration Officer
on 0208 782 4271 or email
[email protected]
Originally employed as an apprentice just over a year ago, Camilo
Goulart is a local Ealing resident now working on site full time as a
qualified carpenter with our builders supply chain PGM. Camilo said,
“I may even look to do my Level 3 qualification one day to further
grow my experience.”
If you need this document translated (or in a different
format, large print, Braille or audio) please contact our
customer service team on 0300 373 0015.
Freddie Yemofio and Jay Guidou
now work as Labourers on site.
David Porter
is an Aqua
Apprentice Plumber,
through REDS10.
AbdiRahman
Mohamed
started work
at Network
Housing Group
as a Defect
Officer and has now moved on to
become an Assistant Project Manager
within the New Business Team.
An apprentice, Luke Grant
from West London, wanted to
do a specific apprenticeship
in Groundwork, but we could
not accommodate him locally.
So we have sponsored his travel to
one of our other regeneration projects
through the community chest where we
have groundwork taking place to meet
Luke’s aspirations of working up the
ladder to eventual site manager.
