Franz Cornelsen Education Group ("Cornelsen") sold NTI Group, the Netherlands-based no. 2 private
education provider in the B2C segment with c. 30,000 students. The sale was part of Cornelsen's
(re)focus on its core K-12 publishing business started in 2012 which now has been successfully
completed “Due to the challenges the digitalization of the education market we decided already more
than a year ago for Franz Cornelsen Bildungsholdung to focus more on our core business” said Dr.
Alexander Bob, chairman of Franz Cornelsen Bildungsholding.
Both parties agreed not to disclose any terms of this transaction.

The sale of Studienkreis, the market-leading private tutoring platform with c. 1,000 study
centers in Germany, Switzerland, Luxembourg, to Aurelius

The sale of academic publishers Oldenbourg Wissenschaftsverlag and Akademie Verlag to
Walter de Gruyter
The sale of AKAD University and AKAD Kolleg, the pioneer in distance-learning in Germany,

The sale of NTI, the no. 2 online university in the B2C segment in the Netherlands, to a leading
private education group
