Sports Program Record with 36 events (4 par9cipa9ng sport disciplines), with a projected par9cipa9on of 5,707 athletes. • 
449 convened events. • 
All of the sports program will be carried on Mexican soil, with the main site at Veracruz and sub-­‐sites at Xalapa, Córdova, and Tuxpan. • 
New sports included: Women’s boxing, Open Waters, Fronton, Basque Pelota; and Golf is back a[er the last par9cipa9on on the Barranquilla Games in 1946. • 
First CAC Games cer9fied by WADA, with 700 tests, 75 of them will be blood tests. • 
First 9me there are classifying events for all the sports and assigned quotas per sport in addi9on to a Classifica9on Manual. • 
First 9me that CACSO implements a new work focus for supervision and evalua9ng processes. •

First 9me there is a transfer of knowledge sponsored event from one host city to the next, from Mayagüez to Guadalajara to Veracruz. • 
First 9me that the book “The Oldest Regional Games of the Planet” authored by Enrique Montesinos is presented a year before the Games are held in Veracruz •

First 9me that a Seminar for Interna9onal Technical Delegates is held 18 months prior to the Games at the same 9me. A year prior to the Games, all of the Technical Manuals with the calendar of the Games are available in both languages on the Web site of the Games. First 9me that 20 sports disciplines classify for the Pan-­‐American Games in Toronto. The sports are the following: aqua9cs (polo, synchronized swimming, swimming), handball, bowling, cycling (track, road, MBX, mountain bike), equestrian, wrestling (freestyle men, women, Greco-­‐Roman), modern pentathlon, racquetball, shoo9ng, triathlon. A year before the Games are held, the classifying processes have already registered 2,466 athletes which means 43.21 per cent of the athletes projected for the Games. Eleven sports have completed their classifying processes and in the coming months 25 the rest will follow. As of today countries with the most classified athletes as of November 16 of 2013 are Mexico, with its quota of 674 completed for being the host country, followed by Venezuela with 257, Colombia with 242, Cuba 210, Guatemala 181, Puerto Rico 167, Costa Rica 149, and the Dominican Republic with 85. •

The Medical and Technical Commission develop their working responsibili9es in a proac9ve way integra9ng new principles like the Evalua9on and Supervision Plan and most of all its team work approach. •

In general terms, we have elevated our standards at all levels not only from the compe99on standpoint but also from the organiza9onal aspect. Even more important, in the true sense of Sports for all, we are taking the legal steps needed for opening up our compe99on to all the youth of our region by allowing addi9onal countries to par9cipate beyond their formal membership in the Olympic movement. Veracruz and the 2014 will bring us new challenges and opportuni9es but we are sure that we will have the resources, stamina and common vision to make the most out of this New Year. MEETING OF THE SPECIAL COMMISSION OF THE CACSO PRESIDENT Mr. Héctor Cardona, President of CACSO as part of the work of the Management Plan has successfully developed the strategy of bi monthly mee9ngs with Mr. Javier Duarte de Ochoa, Governor of the State of Veracruz and the President of the Organizing Commimee of the 2014 Games. The next mee9ng will be have cri9cal issues of the Management Plan and two topics of high relevance, which are the Television service, and the hiring of the services of results and informa9on systems and other technological services of high relevance for the games. NEXT MEETING OF THE CACSO EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE The Execu9ve Commimee of CACSO will have an important mee9ng from 21 to 24 May 2014 in the city of Veracruz to discuss two important issues, Elec9on of the city that will host the 2018 Games and the Associate Members. He is well prepare to do an excellent work. CACSO is very happy to have Carlos commitment to carry out its responsibili9es in appropriate manner. Summon to Host the 2018 Games On January 1, 2014 CACSO received a lemer of intent from the city of Cali, Colombia. The Costa Rican NOC requested informa9on. A Commission from Guatemala visited the offices of CACSO on December 19, 2013 and it handed out pe99ons for reconsidera9on by the Assembly of the NOC, the President of the Republic, and the Governor of Quetzaltenango. The mee9ng was very informa9ve and CACSO is wai9ng for more informa9on to share with the CACSO NOC’s and the Execu9ve Members.
