Project Metallurgist – Mill
Overview of the role:
Reporting to the Processing Manager, the purpose of this role is to provide metallurgical support to the zinc
mines located in both Gordonsville and Strawberry Plains in Tennessee
Main tasks and responsibilities









Maintain regular accurate metallurgical accounting
Monitor circuit performance determining improvement strategy through plant and lab test work.
Provide technical support to the metallurgy and operations department aiding and leading direction of
plant operating philosophy for both people and equipment.
Various specific projects involving metallurgical input
Reagent optimization involving dosing requirements, dosing points, appropriate use of specific chemicals
Plant and lab test work as well as providing as a backup analyst for both the (ETN) and (MTN) labs.
Development of metallurgical procedures for both operations team and metallurgy department
Maintain high level of accuracy in plant scales.
Interact with other departments, e.g. mining, technical services, environmental, safety, to move toward a
common goal
Qualifications and Experience


Minimum 2 years’ experience
Degree in metallurgical engineering
Competencies






Demonstrated communication and reporting skills
Demonstrated knowledge of mineral processing and process units
Demonstrated knowledge of process accounting
Good verbal and written communication skills
Willingness to provide technical input
Ability to work on and manage at multiple levels and multiple directives within the processing unit
organization.
