I am writing to inform you that Mrs. Martens, our interim Assistant Principal, has accepted a position at
SAS (Secondary Academy for Success) for the remainder of the school year. You may remember
when I introduced Mrs. Martens on these pages in October that she came to us from the secondary
realm, and that is her first love. We will miss her cheerful presence here at Moorlands! Please join
me in wishing her the best in her new position!

School District since 2006, teaching Kindergarten, 1 and 2 grades. Prior to moving to the NSD,
Mrs. Graff taught in College Park, Georgia. She received her administrative degree from Western
Washington University, her Masters degree from Georgia State University and her undergraduate
degree from the University of Washington. Welcome, Mrs. Graff!
2014 Moorlands PTA Science Extravaganza! Sat. April 26th, from 11am – 3pm Flyers and registration forms will be handed out by teachers in early March. For more information, visit the PTA website. Please turn in your registration form by Thursday, March 27th. It’s pretty easy…Do some science at home, Create a display, and Share your project! Science is FUN, and EVERYONE can do science! The most important thing to remember is to HAVE FUN! Attention Parents! Our big Spring Fundraiser, the Orange Ruler "Fun Run", is almost here! This program will last for approximately two weeks beginning with our kick-‐off assembly on Friday, 3/7/14. The team has put together a fun-‐filled experience for our children and school that focuses on teamwork, staying active, and believing in yourself. This important program will help us raise needed funds that will be used for three important reasons: 1) support student enrichment programs 2) sponsor family events 3) provide teachers and staff with funds for classroom materials. ** Please be on the lookout for the Orange Ruler parent letter and donation envelope which will be coming home with your child on the day of the kick-‐off assembly. Tournament held March 8th. This was our first year participating in D.I. and our teams displayed amazing
