Through our volunteers, we fulfill our mission of helping Northwest Arkansas women find financial independence as they work their way out of disadvantaged situations. We do this by providing women with three vital tools… • Professional attire • A network of support • Career development training In January we received 40 referrals, and suited 24 women. Four of those women were offered jobs and came back for a weeks worth of clothes. Mark Your Calendar! Suit Sorting Saturdays When: The first Saturday of each month What: Come together to sort clothing, organize and merchandise in the boutique. Where: DFS Boutique Time: 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Our Next Suit Sorting Saturday will be March 1. The Walmart Women of Merchandising help sort donations at the boutique. Help Wanted! Volunteer support W e are in need of volunteers in a wide variety of areas. Currently, Dress for Success NWA is seeking daytime help for: • Image Consultants • Career Services Assistants • Boutique Minders We are also in need of volunteers for fundraising, leading our career services events, and suit drive events. In a little more than four months, the DFS boutique served 52 women, and 25 came back to be suited for employment. Boutique NEEDS! The boutique is still in need of size 18 suits and professional clothing. Why I Volunteer: It’s my way of helping to empower women and their families by leveraging my creativity and skills to their benefit What drives you: With 20 years in PR and marketing, I still felt like I was missing my calling. My move to Goodwill is where everything fell into place. I was finally doing what I do well and I love to lift people up. What drives you: Working with other passionate volunteers eager to help drive awareness and raise funds to benefit the women of NWA.
