David is an English law qualified Associate in the London office. He joined Andrews
Kurth from a leading international law firm in London, where he trained and, following
qualification, spent 18 months working in its Corporate Energy Team. He has worked on
a wide range of upstream and E&P acquisitions and divestments in a variety of
jurisdictions including the UK (both onshore and offshore), Norwegian Continental Shelf,
Faroe Islands, Kurdistan, Azerbaijan, Tanzania, Pakistan and Equatorial Guinea.
David has experience in negotiating and drafting corporate sale and purchase
agreements, farm-out agreements and a product sharing contract. He has assisted and
run a variety of due diligence exercises, has drafted transaction documents and has run
the Master Deed process in its online and paper form. David did a short secondment at a
leading IOC where he supported the in-house legal team with a large UK continental
shelf transaction.

The following represents experience prior to joining Andrews Kurth:
Upstream – M&A and Development
Represented Egdon Resources on its acquisition of the lower horizon of 10 UK
onshore licences.
Represented a European energy company on its bid to acquire significant UK
continental shelf interests being divested by Marathon Oil Corporation.
Represented a Dubai incorporated energy company on its proposed acquisition of
acreage in Somalia.
Represented OMV (UK) on its acquisition of participating interests in a number of UK
continental shelf and Norwegian upstream licences from Statoil AS for US$2.65
billion.
Represented OMV (UK) on its farm-in to five exploration blocks in the Faroe Islands
from Statoil.
Represented a European energy company on its proposed exit from certain blocks in
Kurdistan.
Represented Eni on its divestment of its entire participating interest in 52 licences and
infrastructure assets in the UK continental shelf.
Represented Desire Petroleum Plc on its merger with Falkland Oil and Gas Limited.
