Lavigne, 90, of Medina, NY formerly of Tupper Lake, entered into rest on Saturday, June 28, 2014 at the Medina Memorial Hospital. Born December 25, 1923 in Jay, NY, Helen was the daughter of the late Peter and Evelyn (Bashaw) Lapier. She graduated from Elizabethtown High School. She went on to marry the late Amos Lavigne and lived in Tupper Lake for most of her life. She worked at the OWD for many years and then at the dress factory, both in Tupper Lake and in Malone, until her retirement. Helen was also a member of St. Alphonsus Parish. In 1987 she moved to Mooers, NY and in 1997 finally moved to Medina to be closer to her son and daughter in-law. In 2000 she became a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Lockport, NY. Survivors include her son, William (Debra) Lavigne; three grandchildren, Adam (Jennifer) Lavigne, Courtney (Michael) Gilday and Allison Lavigne (Chris Reichard); three great-grandchildren, Abigail and Peter Lavigne and Miles Gilday; her sister, Kathleen (David) Madore; two sister in-laws, Antoinette Lapierre and Laura Lapierre; also numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces All Flav. 20 oz. btls.- 8 pks. A graveside committal service will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2014 at 10AM in St. Alphonsus Cemetery in Tupper Lake where she will be buried with her husband and daughter. Prenoveau, 71, of Fort Myers Beach, peacefully passed away on July 7, 2013. Born on Oct 24th, 1942 to the late Adrian and Leona Prenoveau of Tupper Lake. He is predeceased by a daughter, son and brother. He is survived by his son Mark Prenoveau, 44 yrs old, of Orlando, Fl. He also leaves eight brothers and sisters, Robert Prenoveau, Marianne Kelly, Midge Davidson, Jean LaMere, Paul Prenoveau, Patricia Madore, Bette Brumlow, and Steven Prenoveau. A memorial was held on July 16, 2013 at Fort Myers Beach. David attended both Holy Ghost Academy and Tupper Lake High School. He served two years in the Army. On April 4, 1964 he married the former Colleen Thornton also from Tupper Lake. They settled in Tupper Lake and in May, 1966 relocated to Bristol, Connecticutt, where their son Mark was born. They lived in Pittsfield Mass. for a few years. In 1978 they moved south to Orlando, Florida. David worked in construction over the years and on a variety of jobs Pork Chops $2.59 lb. Kelly, age 68 of 38 Tor Court, Pittsfield passed away peacefully Saturday December 21, 2013 at Springside Rehabilitation and Skilled Care Center. Born May 25, 1945 in Tupper Lake she was the daughter of Adrian and Leona Prenoveau. A funeral service was held on January 4, 2014 with a liturgy of Christian burial at St. Joseph’s Church in Pittsfield MA. Marianne was a hard working single mother who proudly raised her four young children. She was known for her beautiful smile and happy disposition. She dearly loved her grandchildren. She especially loved spending time with them and having sleepovers. Her favorite pastimes were sports, bike riding, gardening and baking. She loved to dance and was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan. After high school graduation, Marianne earned an Associates Degree in Business Administration at Berkshire Community College. Professionally, Marianne started her 30 year career at Berkshire Medical Center in the Payroll Department. As BMC grew into Berkshire Health Systems so did Marianne, ending with her position as Benefits Manager. There were many friendships developed with her coworkers that would last a lifetime. With an extensive family history of Alzheimer’s Disease (AD), she was diagnosed with the disease at the young age of 59. Even years after retirement, wherever she went she was met with hugs and thank you’s from numerous friends and co-workers. Despite the disease, Marianne would have many more happy, fulfilling years. Helping to find a cure for AD became her mission. She participated in two clinical trials for Alzheimer’s treatments; the first in Albany, NY and the second in Pittsfield with Dr. Jay Ellis. Additionally, Marianne enrolled in a PET scan study at Yale University’s Alzheimer’s Disease Research Unit and a group study along with her siblings at the National Cell Repository for Alzheimer’s Disease at the University of Indiana.
