How does it work? Via OXI (OPERA) or xml (Suite 8) interface technology rates, inventory, availability and restriction data are being pulled and translated into OTDS and EDF standards used by leisure travel industry. OTDS stands for “Offener Touristischer Datenstandard” (open touristic data standard). The xml based ODTS format contains all travel component data with all product and pricing rules to allow distributors to package and deliver such components into online and offline distribution channels (e.g. travel portals, travel agencies). EDF stands for “Einheitliches Datenformat” (uniform data format) developed by the company Peakwork in cooperation with large tour operator companies. Hotel data (room and rate plan descriptions, rate plan codes) are being mapped with GIATA facts. Hotels can decide on which rates and availabilities should be distributed to a corresponding distribution channel. Packages are mapped to common hotel boards such as bed & breakfast, half pension, full pension and all inclusive. This is a necessity to portray those in offer file formats EDF and OTDS. File content is enriched by additional information by obtaining hotel master data information from systems of GIATA. The obtained information includes but is not necessarily limited to: • • • • • Hotel name Country City Address Contact information (phone, fax) From Distribution Channels to MICROS-GIATA Hotel Leisure Connector Service Distribution Channels such as tour operators push bookings to the MICROS-GIATA Hotel Leisure Connector Service. These bookings are translated into OXI reservation messages and made available for download from hotel systems. Interaction with Hub-Player Concepts Important Hub-Player robot concepts like the ones from Peakwork, Bewotec or Traveltainment can be made as incremental part of the MICROS-GIATA Hotel Leisure Connector Service.
