RHEANNE ETKEN / GENERAL MANAGER
We are busy, and it’s great! I would like to welcome Chef Todd to our team; he has hit the ground running,
and is excited to introduce LCC to some new things! Please continue to send in your feedback and suggestions; we love hearing from you! Look for his new lunch and dinner menus starting Tuesday, November
4th. We have some great events coming this next month, including a spectacular wine dinner with professional wine pairings, the Thanksgiving kids crafts event, a Ladies Night Out, with jewelry show and cooking instruction by Chef Todd, and the member appreciation party. I would like to thank all of the members
who volunteered their time to help us with the Halloween trick-or-treating. Thank you to those members
who handed out candy, thank you to Joel Kaczor for letting us borrow the hayrack, and to Lisa and Dennis
Shipman for letting us borrow the hay. The kids loved the hayride and trick-or-treating, and I think some
of the adults enjoyed it as well! We were fortunate to have beautiful weather, in fact, it was quite warm! We
hope to continue this as an annual event. Congratulations to our costume contest winners! All of the kids
looked great! As always, please continue to send in your feedback on what we are doing well, and what we
can do to improve. Please make plans to attend the member appreciation party on November 7th; we
would love to see you all there! Remember, LCC is a great place to watch the Game and enjoy some great
drinks and food! #theplacetobelcc
KRISTEN SAMP / HEAD GOLF PRO
BILL IRVING GOLF COURSE SUPERINTENDENT
We have made it to November! It is the month when we get a
chance to look back and remember all the things to be thankful for. Many of you know that part of my employment and
compensation at LCC is owning and selling all the merchandise in the golf shop. I want to thank all of you who have
supported me and the Golf Shop this year. It has been an interesting road and I have learned a ton! I look forward to
taking what I have learned and making it even better next
year. If there is anything I can do to make your experience
better please let me know. I hope that each one of you will
keep your support of the Golf Shop strong!
Without too much of a humble brag, I think the golf course
is in the best shape I have ever seen it right now. With all
of the sod work completed and growing in, the fairways
have never looked and played as well as they currently are
and the greens have a little more of their usual bite back!
It wouldn’t bother me a bit if the perfect weather and rainfall will continue the way it has.
On November 7th LCC is hosting a member appreciation night.
I will have our very knowledgeable rep from Foot Joy here
with all the latest shoes and new shoes that will be out in
2015. He will have shoes for men, women, juniors, and casual non golf. Please stop by the Golf Shop that night and treat
yourself to a pair or get some early holiday shopping done!
Remember that our clocks change on November 2nd. It’s time
to fall back! The first tee time in November moves to
9:00a.m. (depending on the weather). The golf shop will
close at dusk. The 40 degree rule still applies. The temperature must reach 40 degrees before Bill will open the course.
The golf shop will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, November
27th.
Congratulations to all of you that have won Golf Shop credit
throughout the year! YOU MUST USE YOUR CREDIT BY
DECEMBER 31ST!!
There are lots of great deals in the Golf Shop right now! Stop
by to check it out and thanks again for your support.
Happy Golfing,
Kristen
As we move deeper into autumn, we are doing everything
we can to prepare the golf course for next season. The
driving range tees and fairway have been aerated and
seeded along with our fairway nursery area next to 6 tees.
Due to the renovation of the range area, I am asking that
members hit from the all-season mat for the rest of the
year in order for the range tee to re-grow for next season. I
am also asking that members limit how far they hit balls
on the range to keep balls from coming to rest in the
seeded area. PLEASE do not hit balls more than 200 yards
from the mat (NO DRIVERS).
Finally, a friendly reminder that leaves are falling faster
than we can keep up with them. The leaf rule is in effect
along with the 40* rule for tee times. When we have frost
in the mornings, we will not allow golf to start until it is
40* F. Remember that it takes a while for frost to lift on
#3 and 4 with the long shadows prevalent at this time of
year. If you have an early tee time (especially on the weekends) and there is a chance of frost, please call the golf
shop to check on any frost delays that we may have. Any
frost damage we have now will be there until late next
spring. I appreciate your patience!
