Marathon Run at Sir Padampat Singhania University during ‘Panache
2014’ (6th -7th March 14)
A marathon run for the publicity of Rajiv Gandhi Khel Abhiyan was organized by the NSS
Cell of Sir Padampat Singhania University, Udaipur at 9.30 am in front of the Administrative
Block of the University in „Panache 2014‟- a two-day Techno-Cultural Annual extravaganza
of Sir Padampat Singhania University. Panache 2014 is a student driven initiative aimed at
promoting technology, innovative thinking, cultural and social ethos among students. The
coordinators and volunteers of NSS Cell, students of the Sports clubs and Faculty members
of SPSU enthusiastically participated in the marathon run.
XeLerATe’14 in ‘Panache 2014’ (6th -7th March) at
Sir Padampat Singhania University
XeLerATe‟14 was organized in „Panache 2014‟- a two-day Techno-Cultural Annual
extravaganza of Sir Padampat Singhania University, Udaipur. XeLerATe‟14, a
technical initiative by THROTTLE-SAE COLLEGIATE CLUB SPSU held IC Engine
Workshop, Stunt Show, Auto Expo, and a Quiz- Auto Psyche. 19 teams participated
in the event including students from Jaipur, Mumbai and Gujarat.
The workshop on Automobile Design focused on imparting proper information and
working of modern automobiles. A Jeep chassis was also showcased to explain the
mechanism of the power train.
Exhibit’14 (AUTO EXPO) enlightened the students about the modern day
automobiles present in the market. The exhibition had CHEVROLET Car Company
which is known to give world class models like the Corvette and Camaro. The
company showcased their range of Indian products and technology. This helped the
students learn about the latest developments in the engineering field.
ASME Events at Sir Padampat Singhania University during
‘Panache 2014’ (6th – 7th March 2014)
The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Student section of SPSU
organized 4 technical and cultural events during the two day Techno-Cultural Annual
extravaganza Panache 2014(6th -7th March 14) at Sir Padampat Singhania University.
The events were Popsicle Bridge Making Competition, I-Show (Project show-case),
Balloon Car & Kite Fight. On the Inaugural day of the fest, Popsicle bridge competition &
I-Show were conducted.
In Popsicle Bridge Competition participants made bridges of different shapes, sizes,
strength, design & utility from 200 Pop Sticks according to the problem statement given
to them in 3 Hours. 20 teams from different streams participated in this technical cum
Fun event & fought for the title.
In the afternoon of 6th March 14, I-Show (Project Expo) was organized. Total 8 teams
showcased their projects ranging from Hovercraft to Electrical Driller.
‘SYNCTECH’ the technical hunt during ‘Panache 2014’ (6th – 7th March
2014) at Sir Padampat Singhania University
“SYNCTECH” the technical talent hunt was organized in the Techno-Cultural Annual
Extravaganza „Panache 2014‟ at Sir Padampat Singhania University, Udaipur. In this event
technical brains rather worked together. 9 teams from CSE, ME, CIVIL, EE and ECE branch
participated in the event. All future engineers worked in sync with each other to reach their
destination.
External Evaluation of Project Endeavour during ‘Panache 14’ (6th -7th
March 14) at Sir Padampat Singhania University.
The external evaluation round of Project Endeavour 2013-14 was organized during
„Panache 2014‟ a two-day Techno-Cultural Annual extravaganza of Sir Padampat Singhania
University. 29 projects were showcased by the students of SPSU to the external jury. Some
of the major projects included Digitalizing SPSU- a Web based ERP solution, Vertical
Farming, Autonomous Robots, Ring of Fire, Project Titan, Line Follower Robot and Short
Documentary Films. The external jury comprised of Dr. N.S. Rathore- Deputy Director
General ICAR, New Delhi, Ms. Shailaja Deval- IFS, Rajasthan Cader, Ms. Sumita SarochDeputy Director Rajasthan Tourism, Mr. Gaurav Mantri- Founder Cynapta Technologies, Mr.
Sudhir Patel- Director, Nurture Trek Pvt. Ltd and Mr. Mohd. Fahd- Manager, Aerotrix. The
jury appreciated the projects made by the SPSU students and gave valuable suggestions for
further enhancement.
Game Plan organized at Sir Padampat Singhania University during
‘Panache 14’ (6th -7th March 14)
A Game Plan event was held on 6th March 14 at Sir Padampat Singhania
University, Udaipur, during the two day Techno-Cultural Annual extravaganza
„Panache 14‟. The event comprised of teams of 4 people who came together to
beat every hurdle using their coordination and team efforts to win the title of “The
United”. There were 10 challenges that were put forth like Angry Birds, Grid Math,
Karaoke, Watch out etc make the game more entertaining and challenging. The
event was a blend of fun, laughter, joy and teamwork.

On the evening of 6th March in „Panache 2014‟- a two day Techno-Cultural Annual
extravaganza of Sir Padampat Singhania University a historical play Aakhri Mughal was
performed. The play was directed by Prof. Achintya Choudhury, Dean School of
Engineering and acted by the faculty members of SPSU.
Band Performances at Sir Padampat Singhania University during
‘Panache 2014’ (6th -7th March 2014)
Band Performances were organized on the evening of 6th March 2014 at Sir Padampat
Singhania University, Udaipur during the two day Techno-Cultural Annual extravaganza
„Panache 2014‟. Three bands viz Pirates of Soul from Jaipur, As We Keep Searching from
Ahmadabad, CID Udaipur rocked the stage with their marvelous performances.
Pop the Balloon Car organized at Sir Padampat Singhania University
during Panache 14 (6th-7th March 14)
On 7th March, the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Student Section of
SPSU organized Pop the Balloon Car Event during the Techno-Cultural Annual extravaganza
„Panache 2014‟. The event targeted a good number of participants from different colleges in
the Region to come and participate by showing their skills & creativity. Students from different
colleges came together and made a Balloon car with the help of equipments provided to them.
32 teams were registered for the event and the event turned out to be a great success.

An automobile quiz was organized by the
THROTTLE CLUB (Society of Automobile
Engineers Collegiate Club SPSU, Udaipur)
on 7th March 2014 during the TechnoCultural
Annual
extravaganza
„Panache
2014‟. The quiz hosted a selection round in
which 4 teams qualified who then geared for
the final round. The questions interested the
audience
and
the
participation
was
appreciated. Winners were rewarded for
their amazing accuracy and wide stream of
knowledge.
Introduction to Computer Vision- Workshop at Sir
Padampat Singhania University in Panache
2014(6th-7th March 14)
The Electronics and Communication Department of
SPSU, Udaipur organized a workshop on "Introduction
to Computer vision" on 7th March 2014 in the two day
Techno-Cultural extravaganza „Panache 2014‟. The
workshop attempted to describe the world that we see
in one or more images and to reconstruct its properties,
such as shape, illumination, and color distributions. The
workshop also discussed the fundamental algorithms
regarding object tracking, detection and interest point
finding with MATLAB.
Automobile Design Workshop at Sir Padampat Singhania University
during ‘Panache 2014’ (6th -7th March 14)
The second day of the Automobile Design Workshop at Sir Padampat Singhania University,
Udaipur held during the two day Techno-Cultural Annual extravaganza „Panache 2014‟
focused on a Hands-on Session.
In this the participants worked on a real IC engine,
dismantled the engine into individual components, analyzed all the components first hand,
had a live demonstration of the internal mechanisms and assembled the engine back to
normal. It was followed by the Brainstorming Session on how to improve the design of the
current day engines.
Kite Fight organized by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers
Student Section of Sir Padampat Singhania University during ‘Panache
2014’ (6th -7th March 2014)
A kite fight display was organized on 7th March by the ASME student section of SPSU,
Udaipur during the two day Techno-Cultural Annual Extravaganza „Panache 2014‟. Colourful
Kites of different shapes and sizes soaring high in the sky attracted the attention of the
audience. The event was full of enthusiasm and fun.
Management Conclave at Sir Padampat Singhania University during
‘Panache 2014’ (6th-7th March 14)
Management Conclave a Seminar on Emerging Trends in Management on 7th March
14 was organized by the School of Management of SPSU, Udaipur, during the two day
Techno-Cultural Annual extravaganza „Panache 2014‟. The Seminar concentrated on
the emerging management trends, optimal lessons for applications in management
today, practical experiences, specific challenges and their applications to current
practices. Eminent Speakers from all over the country expressed their views on the
subject.
The first Guest for the session was Ms. Tina Trikha, Chief Executive Godrej spoke
on Technology and its impact on Modern Lives and culture. It was followed by a
thought provoking address by Mr. Jaiprakash Singh Hasrajani, Co-Founder and
CEO Valuer HR, on Social Media & Management. He emphasized on investment in
social media and social recruiting by corporate.
The first technical session started with a very interesting talk by Ms. Ruchika Godha,
Director HR and Admina, Advaiya Group of Industries, Udaipur, spoke on the
concept of OKR (Objectives and Key Results) and its significance in today‟s
organizations. The second technical session commenced with the Keynote address by
Mr. R.P. Singh, General Manager, JK Cements Ltd. His talk mainly focused on the
emerging competency imperatives for young managers in industry today and their
significance for management students. The next keynote speaker for the session was
Prof. P.K. Jain, Director & Dean Faculty of Management, Mohan Lal Sukhadia
University, Udaipur. He touched upon various behavioural aspects as different facets
of Personality which are essential for today‟s budding managers. The talk was followed
by interaction with students and faculty members of the department in each session.
The conclave was successfully concluded with a vote of thanks to all the esteemed
guests.
Smart Investor Game at Sir Padampat
Singhania University during Panache

Smart Investor, a virtual stock market online game
was organized at SPSU, Udaipur, during the TechnoCultural Annual Extravaganza „Panache 2014‟. In this
game the participants were allowed to trade shares of
world‟s topmost companies using virtual money in a
risk free environment. This added to the acumen of
participants to trade in real stock market. The game
was conducted from 10th February till 7th March,
2014. Participants were provided with a share
certificate containing url and password of the game.
Weekly Prize winners were selected on the basis of
“The Day‟s Return”.
SPELL-BEE Competition organized at Sir Padampat Singhania
University during Panache 2014(6th -7th March 14)
On March 7, SPELL BEE, a spelling competition was organized in SPSU, Udaipur during
the two day Techno-Cultural Annual extravaganza „Panache 2014‟. Twenty seven
students of the University participated enthusiastically to display their spelling abilities. A
written screening test was taken. Top 10 students were selected for the stage round
which consisted of 3 levels. The winners Sukriti Bhatnagar and Anushka Shrivastav were
rewarded.
Twelfth Meeting of the Board of Management of
Sir Padampat Singhania University
The Twelfth Meeting of the Board of Management was held on Friday, March 07, 2014 at
11:00 hours in the Board Room of Sir Padampat Singhania University.
The meeting was chaired by Mr. B.K.G. Goswami, IAS (Retd.) Chancellor of the University.
Several academic and administrative decisions were taken in the meeting.
The proposal to open two new academic programs under the School of Engineering (1)
M.Tech Degree program in Electrical Engineering and (2) BCA+MCA Integrated 5 year
Degree program from the Academic session 2014-15 were approved by the Board of
Management.
Street Play organized at Sir Padampat Singhania University in
‘Panache 2014’ (6th -7th March 14)
Street Play, popularly known as Nukkad Natak was organized on 7th March 14 in
SPSU, Udaipur during the two day Techno-Cultural Annual extravaganza „Panache
2014‟. The play, organized in front of the new pavement area of the University was
successful in their attempt to provide an insight to the social and political evils
prevailing in the society. Through witty dialogues, humorous and enthusiastic
performances the actors entertained and educated the audience.
STUNT SHOW at Sir Padampat Singhania University during ‘Panache 14’
(6th -7th March 14)
Professional stunt riders were a part of XeLerATe‟14 on 7th March 2014 organized during
the Techno-Cultural Annual extravaganza „Panache 14‟ of SPSU, Udaipur. The event had a
group of 6 riders who performed some adrenaline pumping feat stunts on motorbikes. The
audience comprising of student fraternity, faculty and staff were flabbergasted and
spellbound to see the set of talent on wheels. The event was appreciated and cheered by
everyone.

The
event
gave
the
participants a chance to develop their own comic book
depicting the story of an Indian citizen. They explained his
journey from beginning to the end. The plights he faced and
the measures he took to make his life and people around
him worth living. The theme was to bring out the powers of a
common man and change the system. The event also
targeted corruption, power and ultimately who emerged as
the real “Super Hero”. The story was depicted in a comic
book layout containing 4 chapters depicting the 4 stages of
life – toddler, youth, adult and old.
NSS Cell of Sir Padampat Singhania University organized Blood
Donation Camp during Panache 14(6th -7th March 2014)
The National Service Cell of Sir Padampat Singhania University, Udaipur organized a
Blood Donation Camp on 7th March 14, during the two day Techno-Cultural Annual
Extravaganza „Panache 2014‟. With the dictum of „Save a Life‟ the camp focused on
making the youth aware about Blood donation. A team of doctors and staff from Rabindra
Nath Tagore (RNT) Medical College supervised the event. About 120 NSS volunteers,
students, faculty members and staff of Sir Padampat Singhania University volunteered in
this camp for donating blood. It is remarkable that 111 units of blood were donated by the
donors. The team of RNT medical College appreciated the social concern of the NSS Cell
of Sir Padampat Singhania University
Brain Balance – Quiz Competition at Sir Padampat Singhania University
during Panache 2014 (6th -7th March 14)
“Brain Balance”, an inter-college quiz competition was organized on 7th March‟14 in Sir
Padampat Singhania University, Udaipur during the Techno-Cultural Annual extravaganza
„Panache‟14‟. The quiz focused on general awareness and aptitude, current affairs, media
& entertainment, history, sports, science and technology. The quiz provided a unique and
exciting platform for students to encourage their general IQ. After a written preliminary
round, six teams were shortlisted for a Live Quizzing round. The winners were awarded
cash prizes.
Do You Have It? A Talent Hunt Show at Sir Padampat Singhania University
during ‘Panache 2014’ (6th -7th March 14)
On 7th March 14 a Talent Hunt Show ‘Do you Have It’? was organized in SPSU during the TechnoCultural Annual extravaganza ‘Panache 2014’. 20 participants participated in this talent hunt. The
performers enthralled the audience with dances, songs, mimicry and a wide variety of performances
that show casted their endowments. The winner was Shreyansh Lunawat and the runner-up was K.
Vinyak.
IMPULSE’14 a Dance Competition organized at Sir Padampat Singhania
University in ‘Panache 2014’(6th -7th March 14)
Impulse‟ 14 a group dance competition was organized in SPSU, Udaipur on 7th March
during the Techno-Cultural Annual extravaganza „Panache 2014‟. There were 9 groups
who participated in the competition. The audience was delighted to see the power-packed
and mesmerizing performances. Beat Blowers and Funky Freaks won the laurels.
FASHION SHOW at Sir Padampat Singhania University during
‘Panache 2014’ (6th -7th March 2014)
A fashion walk was organized on 7thMarch at SPSU, Udaipur during the TechnoCultural Annual extravaganza Panache'14. The theme was "Bollywood trends and
Seasons". With 40 participants, the show had a wide audience including students,
faculty members and staff of Sir Padampat Singhania University.
The show had
fashion trends inspired by Raj Kapoor to Alia Bhatt, from spring to winter, from classics
to the latest fads. The show showcased a fantastic display of glamour along with
simplicity of day to day attires.
DJ NIGHT at Sir Padampat Singhania University during Panache
2014(6th -7th March 14)
DJ Night was organized as the final event of the two day Techno-Cultural Annual
extravaganza „Panache 14‟ at SPSU, Udaipur. The famous DJ Sonya Khanna, from
Delhi was invited for the event. The fest concluded with the musical evening.
