Three Little Pigs event on 8 March 2014 See page 2!! West Cambridge Nursery Parent Nursery Association Newsletter – January 2014 Welcome Happy new year and welcome to another PNA newsletter. The PNA Committee has been busy over the break planning our next two social events. We are very happy to present a new kind of theatrical event, based on ‘The Three Little Pigs’, and our annual favourite, the String Orienteering Picnic. See below for more details – we look forward to seeing you at these events! Welcome to New Families A warm welcome to families who have recently joined the nursery. The PNA supports the partnership between parents, staff, and children at West Cambridge Nursery. It provides a safe forum in which issues can be discussed and is a key communication channel between parents and nursery staff. PNA also organises social events to enhance the community of parents, children, and staff; and it undertakes fundraising activities to for the benefit of the nursery (outside the remit of Childbase) or charities. All parents and guardians of nursery children are automatically members of PNA. PNA Committee (PNAC) Membership – Farewell Aga; One New Vacancy After two and a half years of dedicated work and enthusiasm on PNAC, Aga Iwasiewicz-Wabnig has decided to step down due to increased work commitments. Aga served as secretary for some of this period and has (among other things) produced many wonderful posters and tickets for our events. We thank her for all her hard work and support! Lucy Beharell has now taken on the role of secretary of PNAC. PNAC membership is currently as follows: Name Kirsty McDougall (Chair) Lucy Beharrell (Secretary) Andrea Kells (Treasurer) Vicky Cornwell Bruno Ehrler Niki Fanouraki Anna Lucia Guizzo Kim Komljanec Kamila Lembrych-Turek Anahi Romero Ewa Wojciechowska Sammy Frost (Nursery Manager) Cassey Evans (Staff Representative) Email [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] Please see our noticeboard in the nursery foyer or our website for photos of PNAC members. With Aga stepping down, there is now one vacancy on PNAC. We’d be delighted to hear from any parents interested in getting more involved with the PNA by joining the committee – please consider volunteering! It is a great way to get to know other parents at the nursery and participation is not a big time commitment – we meet on average once a term (8-9am or at lunchtime), and correspond from time to time by email. We would be delighted to hear from parents of children in any of the nursery rooms, and would especially welcome Ladybird and Caterpillar parents as these rooms currently have fewer representatives. If you are interested in joining, please email Kirsty. 1 Theatrical Event: ‘The Three Little Pigs’ – Saturday 8 March, 2.304.30pm We are delighted to present a new PNA event this year, a theatrical event for families of Bumblebee and Butterfly children, based on the story of ‘The Three Little Pigs’.
