CONSTRUCTION OF GANGA PATH FROM DIGHA TO DIDARGANJ (21.50 KM) AT PATNA IN THE
STATE OF BIHAR. (2013-2014)
One of the most important geotechnical investigation works carried out by CETEST in this year for various structural locations for
construction of Ganga path from Digha to Didarganj in Patna, Bihar was awarded by Navayuga Engineering Company Ltd. The
proposed Ganga path has been designed as a high speed corridor with excellent riding conditions and provision of allied facilities
in addition to planned riverfront development activities. The project will have world class facilities like noise barriers and fencing,
street lighting, pedestrian facilities, landscaping and tree plantation, and traffic and medical aid posts among others. It demanded
mobilization of 6 Calyx rigs, floating platforms along with SPT and sampling assemblies. Carrying out boring, drilling work for 165
boreholes up to a depth of 70 mts is challenging. It also involves drilling work in soil under water, upto a depth of 15 mt. Cetest's
qualified engineers and supervisors are working relentlessly to make this project a success. The laboratory tests would be conducted
after successful completion of sample collection and storage. A detailed report will be generated to facilitate the construction of
this major bridge over river Ganga. The consultancy fees offered for this project is Rs. 122 Lakhs.
l GEOTECHNICAL INVESTIGATION WORK FOR PROPOSED STRUCTURE IN RAJAULI-BAKHTIYARPUR
SECTION OF NH-31 AWARDED BY M/S MADHUCON PROJECTS LTD (2012-2013)
For a thorough assessment of the ground conditions and in order to facilitate the design of foundation of various structures i.e
for the construction of Bridges and Structures for Proposed Rajauli-Bakhtiyarpur Section of NH-31, a Detailed Soil Investigation
was to be carried out and the job was awarded to M/s. C. E. Testing Company Pvt. Limited, Kolkata by M/s Madhucon Projects
Ltd .The fieldwork included advancing the boreholes in the soils by Shell and Auger or by Rotary Core Drilling equipment in rock.
The bore holes were of 150mm in diameter in soil and NX size in rock. The scope also included conducting Standard Penetration
Tests, collecting disturbed samples at regular intervals for identification and logging purposes, collecting undisturbed tube samples
at suitable intervals or at change of strata, and testing these in the laboratory. Based on the results of the Bore Logs, Soil Profile,
field tests and laboratory test results and their analysis thereof, the most suitable type of foundation was suggested. The consultancy
fees for the project was Rs. 80 Lakhs.
l GEOTECHNICAL INVESTIGATION WORK FOR CONSTRUCTION OF NEW BG LINE FROM JIRIBAM
TO IMPHAL PACKAGE I (KM 15.80 TO KM 40.00) AWARDED BY M/S RITES LTD (2010-2013)
It has been proposed to construct a new BG line from Jiribam to Imphal and the job was awarded to M/s. RITES Limited. For
designing foundation structures coming under this project, it was necessary to conduct a detailed Geotechnical Investigation Work
to obtain engineering properties of the underlying soil and M/s. RITES Limited appointed M/s. C. E. Testing Company Pvt. Ltd., Kolkata
as their Geotechnical Consultant. The job value amounted to Rs. 1.05 crore.The fieldwork included advancing the boreholes in
the soils by Shell and Auger method followed by chiselling and drilling. The scope also included conducting Standard Penetration
Tests, collecting disturbed samples at regular intervals for identification and logging purposes, collecting undisturbed tube samples
at suitable intervals or at change of strata, whichever was earlier. Considering the nature of the sub soils and the load coming on
to the structures most suitable type of structure was recommended
l DETAILED REPORT ON GEOTECHNICAL INVESTIGATION WORK FOR 2 x 600 MW THERMAL
POWER PROJECT AT CUDDALORE,TAMILNADU FOR SEPCO (2010-2011)
M/s. Shandong Tiejun Electric Power Engineering Company Limited had proposed the construction of 2 x 600 MW Thermal Power
Project at Cuddalore District, Tamilnadu. For designing foundation structures coming under this project, it was necessary to conduct
a detailed Geotechnical Investigation Work to obtain engineering properties of the underlying soil and M/s. Shandong Tiejun Electric
Power Engineering Company Limited appointed M/s. C. E. Testing Company Pvt. Ltd., Kolkata as their Geotechnical Consultant. The
consultancy fees for the project was Rs. 1.87 crores. The scope of the work comprised of sinking approximately 425 nos. bore holes,
Plate Load Tests, ER Tests, Cross Hole Tests, Pump Out Tests & Field Permeability tests. The scope also included conducting Standard
Penetration Tests, collecting disturbed samples at regular intervals for identification and logging purposes, collecting undisturbed
tube samples at suitable intervals or at change of strata, collecting rock core samples and testing these in the laboratory.

MPRDC decided to implement up-gradation, rehabilitation, widening and strengthening of existing MDR network for safe and

as a Consultant to prepare the Detailed Project Report for the proposed improvement and up-gradation of 24 roads (626 Kms
approx) covering 8 districts of Madhya Pradesh. This project is funded by ADB (Asian Development Bank) and the main objective

reports for rehabilitation and up-gradation of the roads under this package. The consultancy fees for this project is about Rs. 209

Hyderabad Growth Corridor Limited (HGCL) proposed to develop radial roads for providing orbital linkage between outer and inner
ring roads through major arterial roads, so as to facilitate smooth traffic flow on existing major arterials and ring roads to enhance
the urban growth of Hyderabad city. To meet the project requirements, HGCL has appointed CETEST as a consultant to prepare
the detailed project report for up gradation of the 5 radial roads (RR No. 14,17,26,31 and 32) with 4 lane configuration to connect
inner ring road (IRR) and outer ring road(ORR) to meet the short term and long term improvement plan. The consultancy fees of

l DPR OF DUMKA-HANSDIA ROAD UPTO BIHAR BORDER(SH-17) IN THE STATE OF JHARKHAND
(2012-2014)
Govt of Jharkhand has embarked upon massive upgradation of its road network in the current plan of 2011-2012 through Road
Construction Department (RCD) and the State Highways Authority of Jharkhand (SHAJ) which has been constituted by the Govt
of Jharkhand (GoJ) with the purpose of development of highways and other infrastructure projects. The SHAJ has been mandated
to undertake improvement and up gradation of various State Highways and Major District Roads at different locations in Jharkhand.
To meet the project requirement CETEST has been entrusted by SHAJ to prepare the detailed project report for improvement and
up gradation to 2- lane / 2 lane with paved shoulders configuration of 52 Kms Dumka Hasdiha road upto Bihar Border ( SH-17).
Total fee for the project is around Rs. 61.54 lakhs.
l DETAILED PROJECT REPORT FOR 4-LANING OF BUDDHIST CIRCUIT-GAYA TO BIHAR SHARIF
ON NH-82 IN THE STATE OF BIHAR (2010-2014)
Project scope included preparation of DPR for 4-laning of Budhhist Circuit of NH - 82 from Gaya to Bihar Sharif for a length of
93.00 Km. The project included widening from 2-lane to 4-lane divided carriageway for a length of 83.00 km and new alignment
(bypass) including proposal of 3 bypasses for a length of 10 kms. Major bridges that came under the project were 6 in number and
there were 4 ROBs, 2 Underpasses, 33 Minor bridges. The value of consultancy services in this project was Rs. 78.85 Lakhs.
l DPR FOR IMPROVEMENT AND UP GRADATION OF V-K-R ROAD IN THE STATE OF JHARKHAND
(2013-2014)
V-K-R road starts from 115th km of NH-33 near vikash and ends at NH-33 ranchi ring road junction near rampur covering an
approx. length of 25.35 km. The project corridor is up graded to 4-lane configuration. The scope of the project includes preparation
of detailed project report along with bidding documents. The consultancy fees for the project is Rs. 31.98 Lakhs.

One of the challenging projects in this division was the consultancy services in relation to the construction of a flyover in Amberpet, Hyderabad.
A feasible general alignment was proposed after detailed Topographical study and Detailed Geotechnical Investigations. Detailed innovative
structural solutions were required for the stretches having restricted width due to unavoidable obstructions and presence of Religious structures,
graveyards etc. Detailed investigation work was carried out for surface and underground utilities and also relocation costs were to be estimated.
This design project was awarded by GHMC (Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation) and the consultancy fees for this work is Rs. 60.3
Lakhs.
l PROJECT ENGINEERING SERVICES FOR THE PREPARATION OF DETAILED PROJECT REPORT &

One of the emblematic and significant project worthy of mention is "The Identification of water drawal point from river Ganges & water pipeline
route survey for the establishment of 2 x 700 MW Nuclear Power Plant at Rajauli District Nawada, Bihar awarded by Bihar State Power
Generation Company Ltd (BSPGCL) The scope of work included -Identification of water drawal point from river Ganges near Bakhtiyarpur,
District Patna. Collection of data for availability of water at source point throughout the year was based on the historical data from Central
Water Commision, Govt. of India., Water Resource Department, Patna. It also involved carrying out detailed route survey for laying of water
pipeline for a corridor of 50 meter width across 100 kms from Bakhtiyarpur, District Patna to the proposed Power project site at Rajauli, District
Nawada. Assessment of the best route , Assessment of the existing & proposed water Supply schemes, facilities of the nearby area of around
3 kms on either side from centre line of route survey area were carried out meticulously .Carrying out socio-economic survey was also in our
scope. An exhaustive report was submitted after taking into consideration the existing permanent structures and facilities such as Railways,
Roads, Bridges, Etc. along the route. Seismicity and Earthquake zonation of the source point and along the route were also determined and
reported.
l PRELIMINARY ENGINEERING CUM TRAFFIC SURVEY UNDER SOUTH EAST CENTRAL RAILWAY
BILASPUR (2012-2013)
CETEST was awarded the job of carrying out Preliminary Engineering cum Traffic Survey for the east, north and east-west corridor for
construction of 350km of rail lines in the northern part of Chhatisgarh state in India. Indian Railways has signed a memorandum of understanding
with the State Government of Chhatisgarh for the development of three rail corridors for both freight and passenger use in the region. The
east corridor will span 180km passing through Bhupdevpur-Gharghoda-Dharamjaygarh up to Korba. The north corridor will be 150km long
and will pass through Surajpur-Parsa-Katghora-Korba, while the east-west corridor will have 122km of rail lines via Dipka, Katghora and
Sindurgarh. The proposed three rail corridors are expected to improve passenger and freight rail services in districts where dozens of companies
are expanding their production capacities of their thermal plants. It will also be useful in connecting the backward areas of the state. Construction
of the corridors will be completed within a period of five years from the formation. Our consultancy fees for the project was Rs 30 Lacs

N F Railway. The alignment proposed was based on the maps supplied by N F Railway (SOI Sheets). Ground visits were carried out to verify
some of the strategic locations along the alignment and marking the same with concrete pillars for future reference. This reconnaissance
survey was conducted to prepare the initial budgetary requirements, estimate etc. for approval by the competent authority of N F Railway so
that this line could be constructed if the project is approved after detailed final location survey. Our survey teams along with NF Railway officials
initially visited the existing Chandranathpur Railway to Shillong city along the proposed new alignment and collected the GPS points, photographs
etc. During these field visits, the team travelled through the NH/SH and other roads to verify the proposed alignment. On their way they tracked
the various subways towards the railway alignment, to find out the possible approach roads to the proposed railway line. Extra efforts were
taken to reach the site of major river crossings, Tunnel portals and viaduct locations to ensure the suitability of design. After thorough field
survey and ground verification the final report was prepared. Our fees for this project was about Rs 30 Lacs.
