This is an unusual opportunity to buy top notch Confederate notes in a public offering. Please take this
opportunity to peruse this offering and add to your collection. It is not often we get the chance to buy
notes like this and it took David many years of both public and private treaty purchases to acquire this set.
Terms - I accept checks, money orders and cashier's checks. I also take Paypal. Checks must clear. If
non-US, I take only Paypal or certified US funds. I will add $3 to $14 for postage and insurance
depending on the value of your order. I offer a 7 day return privilege from receipt if in the original holder
and in same condition as I shipped it as documented in the scan. Buyer pays postage both ways. Refund is
less Paypal fee if returned.
David’s collection has been graded by PCGS Currency (with a PMG note or two as well). A good number
of the notes are above average or choice for the grade and worth a premium beyond average or even PPQ
quality. PCGS does not indicate whether a note is choice by the standards in Collecting Confederate
Paper Money – Field Edition 2014 but I do here. These well cut and strong color notes are hard to find
and with some of the notes presented here as clean cut-cancelled which offers a rare chance to get a high
eye appeal note at a discount. PPQ=Premium Paper Quality. POR=Price on Request.
I am a strong buyer of Confederate paper money - types, varieties and military and place issued notes.

I also take consignments. This can be the best way to sell your Confederate paper money if you do not
need funds right away as the buy-sell spreads are tighter than other means of selling. I’ve handled sets of
Montgomery notes and significant collections of major rare varieties and trains/hoers in this manner.

About David Hogan
I was born in Alex City, Alabama and graduated from the University of Georgia’s forestry
school in 1982. After that I worked for several different paper companies before I started Hogan
Forest Services LLC. in 1986. Hogan Forest Services LLC. is a forest consulting firm, which
manages timber for private landowners. My son Hamilton and I manage timberland in east
central Georgia.
My wife bought me my first Confederate Note for my birthday in the early 90’s. From there I
bought Grover Criswell’s Confederate Paper Money book. Criswell’s book is what got me
interested in collecting Confederate Paper Money. The vast variety of notes interested me. I was
in intrigued by the use of various mythological Greek gods and goddesses on many notes. Slaves
at work, ships, railroad trains, animals, state capitals, and the use of people were all used as
designs on these notes. Confederate Paper Money seemed to me as a form of art than just paper
money.
At this point I decided to try to put together the highest quality type set I could. I would buy from
auctions, paper money shows, and private collections. Some notes took years to find in the grade
that I wanted. So you will be looking at collection that took me 20 plus years to assemble. I hope
you enjoy them as much as I have.
