Wigo, Sr. Superintendent of Schools Mrs. Maria C. Kotch Principal May 5, 2014 Dear Parents / Guardians: Meetings for placement in next year’s classes will begin later this month. Our teaching staff spends a great deal of time crafting compatible groups. As you probably know, our classes are grouped heterogeneously. When we develop our class lists, we consider participation in special programs (AGP, accelerated math, learning support), math and reading levels, learning styles, gender, and overall classroom performance. As a parent, you may have information about your child that would be helpful in the grouping process. Nobody knows your child better than you do. If you feel that your child has an extenuating need, please submit your concerns in writing by Tuesday, May 20. Please do not make requests for a particular teacher, but, rather, give information that will help us group your child appropriately. Please contact me or Mrs. Boyer in our school office, if your child (currently in grades k4) will not be returning to Media School in the fall. Although grouping is basically complete in June, we do not send out grouping letters until August. This gives us the flexibility to make necessary adjustments over the summer months. I am looking forward to the end of year activities, It is a busy time and I know that we will complete the school year on a positive note. Thank you for your continued support. Sincerely, Maria C. Kotch Principal Dedicated to Excellence Did you notice the new additions inside the Front Street entrance? Thanks to our outstanding teachers and staff for sponsoring these prints of Media’s Elementary’s “100” formation, to honor the building’s 100 years. Thanks also to Maura B. McConnell, photographer and MES parent. We recently received a handmade book from one of the first grade classes, containing drawings and letters thanking the PTG for sponsoring their recent Performing Arts Center. – THE PARENTS! Your support of PTG and participation in our events helps make these field trips possible! Relay For Life of the Rose Tree Media Community May 17, 2014 10:00 am to 10:00pm On Saturday, May 17th at 9:00 PM at Penncrest High School the Relay For Life of the Rose Tree Media Community will remember and honor loved ones through the Luminaria Ceremony. The track will be lined with Luminarias to honor a loved one who has survived cancer or in memory of a loved one that we have lost. As in years past, our wonderful Relay Choir consisting of students from the Rose Tree Media School District and directed by Mrs. Sherre Gaertner, will once again inspire us through song. Luminaries are a donation of your choice or for a donation of $25.00 or more a special purple bag will be decorated in honor of or in memory for a loved one. Come out and join us for a very worthy cause and please stay for the ceremony Dear Parents and Students: One important aspect of the American Cancer Society's Relay For Life is bringing our community together by remembering loved ones who have lost the battle to cancer and honoring those who have won. Please help us light up the night on May 17th by purchasing a Luminaria Bag. Credit Luminaria to: Donation Amount Decorate own Bag?
