General description
The Se-Won valve is a combined high velocity gas venting valve and vacuum relieving valve designed
for marine oil tankers and chemical tankers.
It is designed to eliminate dangers arising from toxic and explosive mixtures of gas
and air that frequently envelop the deck, particularly during loading and unloading operations.
The valve can release gases at high velocity, and clear of the deck by entered fresh
air.

2) GAS FREE VENT COVER
General description
The Gas Free Vent Cover has been designed to be operated at the time of gas freeing of the tank for
the safety of oil tanker or chemical vessel, according to the rules of IMO and SOLAS, and to keep
flame outside of the tank when the fires occur at gas freeing time.
The Se-Won Gas Free Vent Cover has more than 1.0 times free open area of connected pipe line’s
sectional area.
Certification
Se-Won Gas Free Vent Cover is designed, tested according to the IMO standard
and USCG standard, and approved by KOREA MARITIME AND PORT ADMINISTRATION, KR, ABS,
DNV, GL, LR, etc..

3) FLAME SCREEN
General description
Se-Won has been developed so many kinds of Flame Arrester including detonation type as a safety
device for plants and vessels, but only screen type of flame arrester for ships will be introduced in this
catalog,
Flame Screen is to protect safely the equipment from flame, by being equipped into the pipe lines, gas
duct lines and vent lines of the tank where inflammable gas is stored, and is a very important device to
prevent the flame occurred due to explosion, and ignition that is happened when inflammable gas is
changed up to the temperature of flashing point owing to the influence of operation of equipment or
surrounding environment, etc
Certification
Se-Won Flame Screen designed and tested according to the IMO standard (MSC/Circ.677) and USCG
standard, and type-approved by Korea Maritime and Port Administration, ABS, BV, DNV, KR, etc..

4) IN LINE TYPE PRESSURE/VACUUM VALVE(BREATHER VALVE)
Description
The Se-Won breather is a combined pressure/vacuum relief system, and the valve
designed for marine tankers chemical tankers.
The Se-Won breather valve is designed and constructed to comply with IMO MSC/circ. 677(1994)
Operating
Before loading or unloading, the breather valve must be test lifted to assure the movability of the
valve disc.
Loading
When loading, the pressure unit of the breather valve is in operating, consequently, it must be check
lifted by turning the check lift handle on the top of valve from it’s closed position to the open position
and back again, before the loading is commenced.
Unloading
When unloading, the vacuum unit of the breather valve is in operating, consequently, it must be check
lifted by pushed up the check lift handle on the bottom of valve before the loading is commenced.
